There are so many different setting powders out on the market, but what are they REALLY useful for? If you've never used a setting powder before, you might think "no thanks, it's just an extra unnecessary step!" But trust me after adding this product in your makeup routine, you're going to wish you gave it a try sooner. From tinted to translucent, they all have a different purpose. In today's post, I'm going to be sharing with you guys my Top 5 Setting Powders along with tips on how to use each one! Let's do this!! ;)
Setting powders are used for locking down any cream or liquid products on your face! Not only will it help with the longevity, but it will also create a much smoother surface for your bronzer and blush application. Since liquids and creams are tacky, if you try to apply a powder on top of it before setting it, you'll just end up moving the foundation around which will get rid of all of hard work and coverage. Now onto the fun part, my favorites!1. Laura Mercier Translucent PowderIf you're a makeup lover, I know we can all agree on this translucent powder! Laura Mercier's Translucent Powder has been my go-to for many years for a lot of reasons. The formula is truly translucent- it doesn't matter if it's the summer and I have a tan or winter when I'm paler- it never changes the color of my foundation. It also has ZERO flashback, doesn't cling to dry patches or settle into fine lines! Saz-tip: I love applying this translucent powder with a fluffy brush like this one all over my face or using it to "bake" my concealer with my Beautyblender.2. Maybelline Fit Me Loose Finishing PowderDo you ever apply your foundation and realize it's a shade or two lighter than it should be? I know that happens to me often and that's when my Maybelline Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder comes super handy. They have a variety of shade options to choose from, and the powder helps control shine while giving a sheer tint of color. I love how even after I apply my foundation, I can customize the tone to match my neck/the rest of my body.3. Laura Mercier Secret Brightening PowderAnother must-have for me is the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder! I've also used this one for many years and seriously can't live without it. If I want my concealer to stay locked in place and not crease up, I make sure to use this product! It also has a subtle brightening effect that I for sure need even more than before (new mom problems lol.)Saz-tip: a little bit of this powder goes a looong way! I lightly dip a small brush into the product and make sure to tap off any excess before applying it!4. Hourglass Ambient Lighting PowderIf you have dry skin, I still recommend setting your face before moving onto the rest of your makeup routine. But instead of a setting powder that's super mattifying, I would recommend a favorite of mine which is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder. This product will give your skin a lit-from-within glow look while setting your makeup in place. I love using this one during the winter months when my skin is looking a little dull for instant radiance!5. Fenty Beauty Invisimatte Blotting PowderThis setting powder is new in my makeup collection but has quickly become one of my favorites! I love using my Fenty Beauty Invisimatte Blotting Powder for just my t-zone where I get the oiliest, and my makeup tends to break down. It's a great powder to carry around with you in your purse for touch-ups! It doesn't take away any of your makeup and gives your face a beautiful filtered look! It seriously even blurs my pores- obsessed!!Those were all of my favorite setting powders and how I like to apply them! I hope you babes found this post helpful :).
