If you’re looking for an easy, natural and beautiful way to contour/achieve your best angle - you’ve come to the right place.;) It should come as no surprise that here on my blog, I love testing new products to see if they really work on my blog. With there being so many out there, I know it can be tough to filter the good from the bad. Today, I’m sharing my review on the latest products from the Estée Lauder New Dimension skincare and makeup contouring collection. If you're looking for a natural everyday way to contour/highlight keep reading and see how easy it is to transform your face. ;)The Key Materials Behind this Tutorial are:
Step 1: Prep! Start with a clean face.
I used a fragrance-free cleanser followed by the Estée Lauder Shape + Fill Expert Serum. I learned that this is their breakthrough new serum with the power to lift the look of both your cheeks and jawline – in just 2 weeks. My first reaction was, there's no way! But after using it for over a week now (every day) I'm starting to see the magic. After applying the serum and giving it a couple of seconds to dry, I'm topping it off with an oil-free moisturizer. Now we're ready to play!
Step 2: Eye Contouring
During this step you will need to apply your foundation only. Then with the New Dimension Eye Contouring Kit you can take the little brush (or use your own) and start to sculpt with the warm tone. What’s the point of contouring? You can bring more or less attention to certain areas making them appear slimmer for example, and more defined.
Don’t be afraid of the dark shade. I know it looks a little hideous at first but we will blend everything in later. I followed the little 3-step guide that comes with the kit that helped me better understand which shade goes where on and around my eyes/nose area. It really depends on what you want to achieve. I personally like the appearance of larger and round eye-lids so I used the darker contour shade to create the illusion of depth. Now gently blend the contoured areas with a soft brush or light hand. Blending is key for looking natural. (Tip: snap a selfie in front of a window or natural light to see how cute or not cute you look.)Step 3: Face Contouring
Now for my favorite part. Face contouring!! But first… the shades mean this:Dark: Shadow areas (aka make areas recede)Light: Highlight areas (aka bring attention to)I’ve done a ton of videos showing you guys how I contour. It’s an art form that gives you the ability to transform your face shape. The key is to know what your face shape is and to create the illusion of an oval shaped face - with the help of a good contouring kit. My face is a mix between round and oval. There are certain areas I focus on more than others. It really just depends!
Now that you know the facts - we can start sculpting! I’m using the New Dimension Face Contouring Kit to highlight and contour. As you can see I’m using the spongy applicator that comes with the kit to help me define the lines of my contour. You can easily use your fingers to apply the product or an angled contoured brush. It doesn’t have to be perfect because we’re going to blend it all in. (If you’re wondering what to contour/highlight this kit also comes with a 3-step guide with helpful pictures!)
Okay we’re all done! KIDDING! Make sure to thoroughly blend everything and finish it off with some blush and a translucent setting powder. There you have it! My final look below. It’s cool getting to create professional results with products like these that can transform your look in less than 10 minutes. If you get the kit, I want to see how you achieve your Best Angle!
