Hi guys! I recently chopped my hair off because it was becoming dull, dry and damaged. I knew that having shorter hair meant changing up my haircare routine. So lately I've been switching it up, and I'm not just talking about my different hairstyles... ;)I’m so excited to announce that I’ve partnered with Kérastase, a brand that I love, to share some of their new products that are serious game changers. I got the inside scoop on products launching later this year that literally had me saying WOW. I can't wait to try them and share my honest review with you here on my blog so stayed tuned for that. Today, I want to share my recent experience with their new Aura Botanica line. This is a line that is silicone-free, paraben-free AND free of harsh sulfates. (I'm all about a natural line!)Summer is right around the corner and the last thing I want is dry, dull hair. Since the haircut, I still straighten my hair a lot but I'm paying closer attention to what I'm putting in my hair this time around. I've only been using this line for 3 weeks but it's quickly becoming my favorite and I'll tell you why.
My Straight Hair Routine:Step one: Start with the Aura Botanica shampoo and massage gently from roots to ends. The amount you use will depend on the amount of hair you have. After that, let the conditioner sit in your hair for a couple of minutes to really soak in and absorb the nutrients. (Multi-task while the conditioner is sitting! Shave your legs, do a face mask, whatever you need :)) Note: If you have more dry than oily hair texture - don't be shy to apply the conditioner from roots to ends.Step two: Towel dry your hair, brush with a wide-tooth comb (less shedding/damaging) and apply the Essence D’Eclat, a rose water oil spray, to the areas you want some extra TLC. I love that the oil is light and not greasy. I usually spray mid to ends but sometimes if I'm wearing my hair naturally curly I'll spray it to the roots as well.
Step three: For my signature straight hair look, I blow dry my hair in sections with a small round brush and straighten it as I go with with my 1 & 1/4 inch Babyliss straightener. I try to keep the heat controlled to 350-400 degrees max.Step four: For that shiny finish, here's my trick. I apply dime-size amount of the Aura Botanica Concentré Essentiel, a nourishing oil blend, to the ends of my hair and certain areas where the texture of my hair is more dry. You can obviously use any dry oil that you have but I love that this one contains natural ingredients like coconut oil, argan oil, avocado oil..mmmm! It smells good while keeping my hair soft and shiny. :) Did you know you can also use this oil as a body oil? I like adding a dot to my shoulder blades when I wear off the shoulder tops for that glowy skin look.
I love a good line that can tame my lion’s mane. lol! Aura Botanica gets an A+ from me - have any of you tried it yet? Also let me know what some of your hair concerns are. I'm super open to hearing your thoughts on what products, tutorials and techniques you'd love to see through out this fun hair series with Kerastase. Who knows, maybe you'll uncover your new favorite product along the way. ;)XOXO! SAZAN
