Who’s ready for a night out?! Looking to spice up your everyday makeup routine? :)Sometimes spice requires a little too much time in front of the mirror. Before you can say RAWRRR, I'm going to show you how to recreate my bold cat-eye in 3 easy steps. The only way to do this right is by breaking it up step-by-step and using the right products.I was intrigued when I found out Max Factor was bringing their new collection to the US - limited supply available August 1st! I got my hands on a few of their products to help me achieve today's flawless cat eye tutorial for you guys. I learned this technique from world renowned makeup artist Pat McGrath (her tips are the best!) and now I'm passing it down to you! Enjoy!
Here’s What You’ll Need:Max Factor’s Masterpiece High Precision Liquid Eyeliner (Velvet Black) - available at drugstores Masterpiece MAX Mascara (Belvet Black) - available at drugstoresMatte Black Eye-liner pencil (whatever you got!)Max Factor Lipstick (Maroon Dust) - available at drugstores
Step 1: Grab a dry eyeliner pencil to create your cat eye flick starting at the outer corners (see above). Pencil application FIRST will make it easy to perfect the shape and correct mistakes with a cotton swab & makeup remover if necessary. (I did not know this you guys!) Next, draw a short line connecting the end of your cat-eye to the end of your pupil. Connect a second line from inner corners to ends. Pat also promises that a pencil will make it easier for you to blend and create the look of a soft edge - prepping the eye for the liquid liner. Step 2: Once I’ve drawn the base liner, I’m going to fill in the blanks with my Max Factor Masterpiece High Precision Liquid Eyeliner. With just a few coats my cat-eye is close to looking complete. Go over your penciled flick to make sure it's defined and even with the ends of your eyebrows. Make sure your wing has a gradual tapered shape- if you mess up, don’t worry because a little makeup remover on a cotton swab should do the trick! Step 3: Lastly, to amp up my cat eye I’m applying my Max Factor Masterpiece MAX Mascara directly to my lashes for a dramatic voluminous look. I love how voluminous and full my natural lashes look with just a few coats clump-free.
Last, add a pretty lipstick shade to complete the look.
I'm wearing Max Factor's 'Maroon Dust' to keep the look clean. I love this shade and how soft it feels on my lips. I notice that I always lean towards a softer lip color when I’m rocking a cat-eye to keep the focus on my eyes.
BAM! You’re ready for a night out. If this post inspires your next cat-eye, I hope you'll take a selfie so I can see! Just use the hashtag #SazanInspired and I won't miss it. xo!
