Every season I find myself changing more than a few products in my everyday makeup routine. During summer my skin tends to get more oily so I typically switch over to a shine-free matte foundation and peachier hues for blush, bronzer, lip etc. In the winter, my skin is more dry so I opt in for a more creamy/dewy foundation and warmer colors to accessorize the face ;). The one thing I try to achieve in every season (regardless of the weather conditions) is flawless skin that looks healthy, radiant and natural.
Before you go out and buy an entire new makeup collection, think about your skin and what products you might need. Everyone is different. My skin can be pretty combination (especially now that I'm preggo and hormones are raging!) but I'm going to round up some of my favorites that I've found work great for most skin types. But first... some tips!Less is definitely more when it comes to my summer makeup routine. Going into a huge store filled with makeup can get overwhelming. You either walk out empty-handed or buy a bunch of items you don’t even need (and probably won't ever use again). For hotter months, I love sticking to lightweight products. The last thing you want to experience is your makeup melting away (ack!).
Saz Tip: My favorite trick for flawless skin in the summer is going with a light to medium coverage foundation and incorporating creamy products I can blend easily into my skin for a natural finish (I use this one every single day). Another tip? ALWAYS apply a translucent powder over any liquid foundations in the summer. Also, don't forget to moisturize the skin before you apply any makeup to your face. However, avoid those super rich/thick moisturizers because it can make your makeup look more cakey and oily. We don't want that!Think glowy skin: light shimmery eyes and a simple everyday gloss you can wear for day and night. A trend I've been seeing everywhere is a pop of color with eyeliner - this can be a fun (still simple) twist! I know we all love our black liner we wear daily, but it’s nice to switch it up this season with an extra little POW. :)By all means transition some of your favorite products into summer by trying a few of my tips and tricks above.
