I can't believe August officially marks just two months since we moved into our new home. It feels like yesterday when we shared our mini home tour with you all, and now we’re showing you a first look at our latest room transformations!
The ProcessStevie and I both agreed that we wanted to put more energy into this house when it came to the look and feel. We were renting our last place, so we never really got settled in. For this house, we wanted our living room to look more modern but still have that cozy, classic, and comfortable feel. With a baby on the way (and Sweetie's sticky paws!) I knew we needed to be very careful with our choices. We're both pretty indecisive when it comes to making home decor decisions (especially me), so we enlisted our friends at Z Gallerie to come in and help us out!
I loved that Z Gallerie had everything our home might need from fashion-forward (modern) pieces to practical and comfortable essentials. They BLESSED us by bringing in the interior decorating queen Shana Wardle founder of Sloane & Studio to help us every step of the way. She created an awesome mock-up rendering of our living room and master bedroom in photoshop so that we could see her vision and share our input on the things we liked and/or disliked. She instantly got our vibe and together we picked out so many great pieces!
Our favorite pieces
So hard to choose just one! My favorite pieces in our living room are definitely the fluffy sofas we got! I'm SO surprised we went with this color and even told Shana, "Are you sure we can get away with having a baby and big hyper dog?!” She said 100% yes. The fabric material on this sofa is unique and spill-proof making it easy to clean in the event something happens. Since we have two living room areas we decided this one is mostly for us and entertaining guests. (Plus, Sweetie isn't allowed on the couch anymore so she's been trained to stay away ha!) I also love the buffet nook with the pretty white vases on the back wall. It paints such a pretty and elegant picture! (this area will be fun to mix and match as the seasons change)
Stevie's favorite piece is basically the entire window nook area in our living room that Shana helped us bring to life. The Z Gallerie Spindle Chairs look like a million bucks and are sooo comfortable! We would have never thought to arrange the nook in this way. #soperfect
It goes without saying that our master bedroom is everything we wanted and more. We love our king-sized Jameson bed! I love all the soft neutral details and the fluffy pillows! There's a giant Bergmann mirror above our dresser and it's the perfect statement piece that gives this room a cool fashion-forward vibe which I really wanted to have. I also love the cozy little sofa in the corner window. :)
Word of Advice
The BIGGEST piece of advice I can give you if you're in the planning process or picking out pieces for your home is: take it one room at a time. I used to think I needed to order/buy everything at once. Be patient and get to know every area of your space. Shana gave us a really great tip in saying that every corner and nook in your home should have "its own little moment”. Don't be afraid to spice it up and accessorize (kind of like an outfit!)
