Hey homies! If you follow me on Insta and SnapChat (SazanBarzani) then you probably know where I got my hella dark tan. Last week, I joined The Yacht Week with my sister and a few other gals as we set sail around the British Virgin Islands. It was unforgettable - to say the least. This was my first trip in the new year and first trip in a long time without Stevie! I told him, "Babe, I got this. Everything will be peachy. I can travel without you.."Before I talk about the breathtaking views, the pretty blue water, and the yacht week experience - there's an important part of this story that I can't forget to mention. As an influencer who documents all her travels with pretty pictures to help tell a story, I sometimes fail to mention the behind-the-scenes Sazan moments. The truth is, mother nature decided not to be friends the day I was traveling out to St. Thomas. My sister and I were stranded at the Miami airport following another nightmare after nightmare. When we finally arrived to St. Thomas (it was 12 am - we had been traveling since 3am), our bags decided not to show up. My jaw dropped. I was afraid we were going to miss the yacht cruise! I looked down at my outfit and thought, "If these sweatpants and Steve's sweatshirt is what I'm going to be wearing for the next week...kill me now." We checked into a hotel that night and thankfully the next morning our bags arrived. Now it was time to catch the ferry and meet all of our yacht week friends!
When we arrived on the yacht, I was excited to meet my family for the next 6 days. I think that's one of the things I enjoy most about my travels is all the amazing people you get to know during your journey. Looking back now, I miss it so much! From the delicious food to the morning routines of laying out on the net of the yacht to the fun late nights partying and singing "Nancy Ajram" on the yacht - these are memories I never want to forget. I get to check off my bucket list seeing: Norman Island, Virgin Gorda, Necker Island, Anegada, Jost Van Dyke and more.
If you aren't familiar with The Yacht Week, basically it allows people to come together from all over the world to experience the yacht life. I was cool seeing how at the end of each day all the yachts meet up for dinner, dancing, hanging out all night etc. I met tons of cool people from different countries and discovered so many new things about myself in the process. The girls and I kept joking that The Yacht Week totally needs to have a reality show centered around the Skippers. Our skipper Jake was so hilarious. We decided to do a girls take over photo with Jake. LOL!
Special thanks to The Yacht Week crew and my sweet girls Solmaz, Annabelle, Ninel and Stran for making this trip unforgettable.
