10 Tips To Look More Stylish At The Office
Lifestyle StyleDRESS LIKE A LADY, THINK LIKE A BOSS

Mondays. They’re the best of times, they’re the worst of times. A new week is a new opportunity to take style with you wherever you go. Regardless of your 9-5 job and how your co-workers dress everyday, take a deep breath and note that you don’t have to dress boring to work anymore!
If the question, “Where do I start?” is on your mind – don’t panic. Just like exercising, starting a new hobby, changing old eating habits – it’s all about baby steps. The cool thing about achieving style in the workplace is once you feel that, “dang I look good today” feeling – dressing for work becomes a fun thing instead of a chore in the mornings.
The easiest part? I’ve done the research for you! Below are my top 10 tips for taking style with you into the office. You’ll notice that most of these tips you can start incorporating now – and for all ages! Keep reading!
Tip 1: Add shots of color.
Whether it’s a subtle hint of lilac or a hot pink pump – adding a pop of color into your business look is a great way to spice up the everyday office-wear. And if you’re a daring diva – try matching your shoe with a bold lip color.

Tip 2: I dare you NOT to wear black. Think: Spring
Sure black is a great go-to color. It’s slimming and everyone looks good in black right? However, it’s almost spring! Try mixing in some neutrals like cream or camel. You can’t go wrong with these soft hues. It’s a great way to brighten up the office this spring.

Tip 3: Strict Dress Code? Don’t panic.
Accessories are your best friend. An impressive statement piece, hand bag, and even hairstyle can transform your entire look. You’ll suddenly feel confident and not so conformed in the office.
Tip 4: Own at least one good suit (that fits!)
Ladies – A tailored suit that fits and flatters your body type can make all the difference. Research the best fits/style for your body type. For example, I am slender/petite so I knew a cropped pant suit would be a great fit (literally) to give the illusion that I’m taller. Also note – plaid and pinstripes are AWESOME not LAME. The benefit of spending money and time tailoring a suit (if you need to) is knowing that you’ll have it forever. You can re-wear the blazer styled with a dress and the pants, too. Just pair it with a cute blouse over and over again.

Tip 5: Invite Unique prints/patterns/textures
Sometimes all your office attire needs is a little pattern. Buy a few patterned blouses or button-up tops to mix into your daily routine. I totally recommend visiting your local consignment store to find unique prints for super cheap!
Tip 6: Sporty can be office chic, too.
If you’re going to wear pants everyday, switch it up every now and then with a side-stripe pant or printed bottom. If your workplace isn’t super strict, mix and match a sporty sweater with a loose button-up underneath, statement necklace and sleek skinnies. Heels or loafers? You decide.
Tip 7: Sneak in strappy heels
What the HR department doesn’t know won’t kill them right? 😉 Get away with open-toed heels by pairing them with conservative pieces like a pencil skirt and long-sleeve blouse or a chic all black pant-suit. #YOLO
Tip 8: A Jumpsuit and Blazer
If you’ve been dying to wear that comfy new jumpsuit you bought to work but might be afraid your boss will call you into the office (that’s happened to me before LOL), try pairing it with a blazer. Instantly the jumpsuit will look sophisticated and business-chic. If you’re not a blazer fan, look for loose-fitted jumpsuits with appropriate sleeves.
Tip 9: Sleek Hair or Messy Hair, Don’t Care.
There’s something so chic about a sleek hairdo in the office. There’s also something so chic about a messy soft top knot. If done correctly, you might be mistaken for a runway model behind that cubicle. 😉 Whether it’s a sleek top-knot, your hair parted more on one side, or a soft messy low-bun – a little goes a long way. (Tips for creating sleek looking? Try this coconut oil mixed with a dry oil recipe. See a quick tutorial here..)
Tip 10: Wear a Dress, at least once a week.
You don’t have to be a girly-girl to appreciate a good dress. Dresses are probably the easiest way to look classy and ready for a meeting at the same time. Stay away from fitted dresses (this ain’t the club!) and look for asymmetrical styles like a wrap dress that looks flattering on every body-type!
The next time you stand in front of your closet and think, “What in the world should I wear today?”, I hope these friendly-tips will help you out! Did you enjoy reading this post? Comment below and share your thoughts. Please share any of your tips too. 🙂
Cheers!

Sazan, you got called into the boss’s office?!? Now I’m going to have to give your advice the side-eye, lol.
But seriously, I love a good fitted/bodycon dress, and I’ve found that I can pull most of them off at work if they are a nice thick fabric, hit below the knee, and if I wear a sleeveless or boyfriend blazer that covers my hips and bum. If nobody can see your body line then it’s not scandalous!
I wish I could wear a dress to work! I work in manufacturing so I have to wear long pants, closed toed shoes, and no large jewelry every day. Hard to be a fashionista in a world like that!

These tips really did help, as I’ll be starting a new job soon. At the moment I have no dress code, but for the field I want to go into, I know I’ll need to dress more corporate, so I’m wondering how to make it more interesting.
Love it!
