I’ve always wondered why Fridays have been recognized as the popular “Jeans Day.” That thought created another thought. Why are jeans a go-to fave? Is it because they’re comfortable? Easy to style? Great for hiding the hairy legs? and while we’re at it, where do jeans come from?
Just like humans, jeans have evolved since the beginning of their time. Over the past three months, I have been a Blogger in Residence for YMI Jeans. Through out this journey, I’ve been able to put my questions to the test and explore ‘behind the seams’. I took you guys on a tour of YMI headquarters, showed you how to DIY denim, and I even interviewed the CEO of the company. For my last assignment, I still needed one question answered. What is it about jeans that make it never go out of style? I’m putting my reporting skills (and college degree!) to use by uncovering the answer to my question. While we’re at it, I’m also sharing tips for helping you find the right fit and style. Because there’s a lot! I’m on a mission. Hope you enjoy watching.
Thanks for watching! Visit my youtube channel to see more style videos. To shop any of the YMI styles you saw in the video, visit their site here. Hope you’ll saz-scribe while you’re at it.

After a week of traveling to Denver, Colorado for vacation – I’m finally back! I don’t want to give away too many details of my trip because I captured all my favorite moments on video which I’ll be sharing with you very soon!! Can’t wait.P.S. It was freeeeezing there.
On a warmer note, it’s good to be back in sunny California so I can get away with wearing cute little dresses likethis one today. It’s a fleece material so it’s perfect for those Cali days when it’s warm during the day but gets chilly at night. (Fun fact, I actually took this dress to Colorado and wore it as a tunic over my jeans.) As you can see, I decided to pair it with my newest kicks from DV that are super comfy – not to mention they add some height to my 5’2” frame. I think every gal should have a cute pair of black booties for spring!;)
Confession: I finally spring cleaned my room and discovered so many accessories that were hidden in my closet. #sazanprobs Of those accessories was this super cute denim clutch gal pal Deniz got me for my birthday from her super cute online shop Private Cartel. I can’t believe I forgot about it! #OOPS #ILOVEDENIM
Time to catch up on some work and then head out to a pirate dinner in Anaheim with my friends. It’s going to be interesting so keep a look out on my insta for pics. Thanks for stopping by my blog cuties. I am so very excited to share some upcoming projects with you guys. You all motivate me each and every single day to keep creating fun content! In the meantime, I hope you’ll keep coming back for more style + beauty inspo.
Thick eye brows are in. Thin eyebrows are..well, when were they ever in?
Happy Tuesday loves! Today on my Youtube channel, I’m showing you how easy it is to create natural thick eye brows without it looking overdone. Funny story – This video is actually an updated version to an old one I did on my channel. The quality is way better, plus I’ve completely changed up the routine. I’ve been using a new product now for my brows that has saved me a lot of time and energy in the bathroom. I hope this video helps you if you’re looking to acheive perfect thick eye brows. Watch below :))
I’m so excited and I just can’t hide it! Today I’m sharing one of my most exciting beauty collaborations yet! But first… is it just me or is life getting a little crazy busy? I’ve recently become a fan of hacks, quick and easy short-cuts for getting things done. Especially in the beauty department. My beauty life got a little easier after I recently joined Byrdie’s Beyond Beauty Hacks to create two fun and easy tutorials using Clinique’s Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer. Is it a foundation or a concealer? It’s BOTH! I freaked out a little bit from excitement when I found out. #obsazzed
If you struggle with the shaky makeup hand – watch how I used Clinique’s 2-in-1 foundation + concealer to perfect my pink pout and bold cat-eye. The clean-up has never been so easy!
Hope you liked!! It was literally a party on set (if you couldn’t tell with my dance moves). When leaving the studio, I left my makeup on and noticed it continued looking fresh for hours. For all my multi-tasking queens, I totally recommend trying Clinique’s Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer to enhance your next makeup look on the go! It comes in tons of shades so check out all the options here.
Special thanks to Clinique, the entire Byrdie crew, Director Justin Coit + Clique Studio for bringing this entire vision to life.
It’s been a while since I shared a style post so today I’m keeping it casual/cool in this ‘Respect’ graphic tee and embroidered mini skirt. I’ve always been a huge fan of mixing simple with glam. The details of this skirt make it easy to skip the accessories for this look. By adding a chic pair of heels, you can transition this look easily from day to night. If you’re experiencing chilly weather where you are, then you can add a hosiery and/or a leather jacket to edge up the look.
Speaking of chilly, I’m heading to Denver Colorado for the first time this weekend! I’m soooo excited to go! If any of you guys have been feel free to share any must-see attractions or places I should go. I can hardly wait!
Let’s talk about last night’s Oscars shall we?! And by Oscars, I mean the fashion. I mean WOW!! So many pretty sights at last night’s show. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from experiencing award shows (aka my recent SAG Awards experience), it’s the fact that you don’t need to be on a red-carpet to experience that ‘red carpet moment.’ Today I’m rolling out my own red carpet with DSW to show you how easy (and affordable!) it can be to channel celebrity style trends in your everyday wardrobe – From head to toe.
All you need is a little celebrity style inspiration. If I had to choose two celebrities who I’d love to channel in my everyday life…the award goes to Lupita Nyong’o and Gwyneth Paltrow. Last night I loved both of their Oscar looks. I took these two ladies as style inspirations for re-creating my own outfits that are everyday appropriate.
The Risk Taker
Lupita wore this all white gown that you might want to take a very close look at it. It is made of over 6,000 pearls! How daring is she for doing this!? It’s one of those hit or miss dresses and I love that she took a risk. I also can’t get over the bold dress she wore at the SAG Awards. It was so vibrant!
If Lupita was a shoe, I picture her being a colorful one. I took these fun and classy pointed-toe heels from DSW and styled them with these funky/cute striped gauchos. I think a shoe style like this can instantly add an elegant + bold statement to any outfit you attempt!
Next up, the minimal-chic style trend. It’s always a hit on the red carpet (when done right). Gwyneth Paltrow is no rookie when it comes to this style. Yesterday at the Oscars, she came out in a classic Gwen dress. This pale pink dress with the detail on the shoulder looks so girly but effortlessly chic at the same time.
If Gwyneth was a shoe, she would be a timeless nude pump. These patent pumps are the perfect neutral shade with an opening on one side to add a little extra spice to your everyday look. You can dress it up or down – however you’d like!
Say hello to my NYFW outfits served to you on big big platter! I decided to make this as simple and easy as possible for you guys. The looks you’ll see below are some (not all!) of the looks I wore during NYFW. It was soooo cold in NYC that some of my outfits didn’t make the cut because I was too cold to stop and snap! Hopefully you’ll forgive me for this one. Hope you enjoy + comment afterwards and let me know which look was your favorite.
I hope you enjoyed following my NYFW journey! In one week I’m traveling somewhere I’ve never been. Can you guess the next #SazanTravels adventure!? If you said DENVER COLORADO you’re a winner! I can’t wait
From the runway to the streets, I’m sharing my part 1 series to NYFW Fall/Winter 2015.
Hello from NYFW! Let me start this post by saying NYC is freeeeeeeeezing. Today it was like 9 degrees outside. Some of you live internationally and are probably laughing at me when you guys experience negative degrees weather conditions! I hope you will forgive me considering I am traveling from California where it’s always warm and sunny. ha! I know. I’m such a big baby. If you’ve been following me on snapchat (SazanBarzani) I’ve been making some pretty silly weather update videos. LOL
Anyways, back to fashion week. All weather aside, I’ve been having an amazing time! It’s been a few years since I’ve experienced fashion week New York in February. With that being said, I’ve been snapping a bunch of pictures for memory sake and to share with you guys. I have to narrow this series into 2 parts (it was so hard for me to narrow down my pics! #sazanprobs) I’m also going to share a full NYC outfits recap (details included) so don’t worry – that post is coming soon. Okay! I hope you enjoy these selected pics.

I know you guys probably have tons of questions about the products I used. I will say that Dove’s Advanced Series products have yet to disappoint me. They seem to have one for all hair types. I’m noticing they are quickly selling out of a lot of their advanced collections. (The DRY SHAMPOO is amazing!) Also, some of you might be thrown off by the fact that I use a volumizing GEL for this look. The one I use is from Aussie and it is super light-weight. I like the texture it creates in my hair. If your hair has a life-less/flat texture I especially recommend you try this. I use a quarter size and it helps if you flip your hair upside down and apply it to all areas with a little more in the roots and scalp before blow drying. (you can find it at Walmart for like $4!)
This is officially the longest slash coolest button-up shirt dress OF ALLLLLL TIMEEEE. (Sorry, the Grammy’s were on yesterday and I still die for the classic Kanye quote. HA) Anywhoooo, I feel like the length of this dress sits perfectly on my 5’2” frame. It’s not easy being a shorty yawl!!!! I love how it has a tie around the waist which helps create shape around the waist area.
I’m heading to New York in 2 days!!! Let’s just say, I won’t be wearing open-toed wedges and breezy dresses. BURRRR! That doesn’t mean I’m not possibly taking this dress with me. You might just see it styled for the freezing-degree weather. Staaaay tuned!
Hope you all have an amazing week and kick butt!! I’m going to try to shoot and edit another Youtube video before I leave on Wednesday.
