(Outfit Details) Romper: Velvet by Gram & Spencer | Shoes, Bag, Necklace: Sole Society
Whether it’s a spontaneous trip to Europe or a planned weekend getaway – there are so many easy essentials to take while traveling. Since it’s summer and I’ve been traveling a lot this season I decided to share some of my tips to help you out. It’s taken me years to learn that sometimes it’s ok to leave the frilly dresses and killer heels out of my trip itenirary. Today’s post focuses on the accessories and how a few great items can make all the difference.
Comfort is key if you’re planning a relaxing weekend getaway. Pack a pair of nude flats and maybe a versatile wedge like what I’m wearing from Sole Society. The strappy-styleis fun and on trend with summer. Outfit ideas can be wearing them with a cute romper, a pair of shorts, ripped jeans or a going out dress. The possibilities are endless!
I’m not an overly obsessed jewelry person, but I love having a statement necklace that’s easy to wear with so many outfits during your trip. The more boho the necklace the better, in my opinion. 😉
Another great accessory to keep in mind is a portable and spacious weekender bag. A lot of the times when I’m traveling I try to fit everything in a big suitcase and that ends up being a nightmare when I’m at the hotel throwing clothes everywhere trying to find my phone charger (for example). Somehow I always end up losing my mind and my charger! It’s the small essential things that I love having a seperate bag for. This one is spacious and easy for me to carry those essential items that I’ll know exactly where to find during my trip.
Okay now I’m ready for my next little getaway. Stevie and I driving down to San Diego this weekend for a fun family reunion. Can’t wait!
Special thanks to Sole Society for sponsoring my post.
Am I really wearing a mumu? Like…the thing my grandma used to wear? Believe it or not, the mumu trend is back and better than ever. Is it crazy that I’m totally obsazzed? This one I’m wearing is from a Paris based brand called Lowellita. I absolutely love the hot pink pom-poms on the sleeves. It adds a modern twist! I feel like a little Señorita!
I paired it with fun wedges and shades to keep it on the playful side for summer. Are you fan of this trend? If so, how would you style your mumu?
Can summer never end so I can wear this front button denim skirt forever? I recently got this 90’s throwback skirt at Topshop (in the petite size option). It’s so comfortable, and it looks cute paired with practically anything. This is a go-to outfit for me wearing a denim skirt with simple shirts/tops. This classic white top is a piece I like to have in my closet because you can wear it a million times over. It doesn’t hurt that it actually comes in every color you can imagine (for $30!). Please note I’m 5’2” so the petite size works for me, but I have long legs and kind of wish I got the regular size. I think if you don’t want the skirt to run too short (when you sit down for example) go with the regular size. If your size is sold out, check out all of the other front button styles here.
I seriously love it so much (and no I’m not being paid to say that!) I wore it just the other day in Chicago with my new leopard flats and this cute loose-fitted blouse. I also rocked it when I was in Texas to help me beat the heat!
This look can’t get anymore 90’s after adding jellies into the mix. ha! Of course I had to add a pop of color to this look since it is summer. These jelly t-strap sandals are so fun. I’m glad I finally found the perfect outfit to showcase them because I’ve had them since December!
I hope you all enjoy the rest of your week! Thanks for stopping by my blog and taking the time to read my post. It means so much to me! Sorry for the lack of posts lately. My site is under-going some internal changes and maintenance so thank you for your patience!
The off the shoulder trend is so hot right now! I’ve been chasing the trend for several months now since our Cancun honeymoon and decided to share my latest find! When it comes to this throwback trend, I try not to follow too many of the crazy rules. I read somewhere that said off-the-shoulder styles look better on broad shouldered girls with flat chests – as if!!! I think anyone can wear it as long as you find the right bra. Let’s face it, seeing your boobies sag to the ground is never a cute look.
When I was in Austin last week, I purchased this cute white one at Cotton On (for 10$..SO CHEAP!!). It’s so comfortable and perfect for staying cool in the Texas heat! I wore it on our last-night (yesterday!) out to dinner with my go-to brown wedges and new KS bag I scored from Nordstrom’s anniversary sale.
Dress: Cotton On (oops! Can’t find online – shop some styles I LOVE here, here)
Wedges: ASOS (old, shop identical pair here)
Bag: Kate Spade (New + on sale!)
Sunglasses: Quay Australia

On a windy note – I just arrived in Chicago for the Simply Stylist Conference this weekend! Can’t wait to speak on the panel and meet some of my Chicago peeps!!!!!!! By the way – It’s my first time in Chi town so if you have any recommendations please share!!

May 8, 2015 – the day my life changed forever. I married my college sweetheart and best friend Stevie (as many of you have grown to know and love!) and it was truly the happiest day of my life. When we received our wedding video, I knew I wanted to edit a special version for my online fam. In this video, you’ll catch some of the highlights from our LA summer wedding. It was such an intimate and special day with moments I am excited to share with you and others I’ll save and cherish for myself. Nonetheless, it’s a blessing for me to share this with all of you – my awesome Sazcribers. We hope you enjoy re-living these special moments with us. Marriage is such a beautiful dream come true. Thank you for your continued love and support! #stevieandsazan

I can’t believe it’s our 2 month summer wedding anniversary today! It is the perfect excuse to look back on the journey we’ve had so far and share photos from our big day with you. I love being married to my best friend. (incase you haven’t noticed with all of my crazy hashtag-obsessed #marriedlife #stevieandsazan posts.)
One of the most rewarding feelings since saying “I do” is getting to wake up and sleep next to my hubby everyday. I love when I wake up before him and can cook him breakfast in the morning. Food is the way to Stevie’s heart (and a back-scratch)! Another fun perk has been furniture shopping and building our new home together. It’s been a work in progress that’s for sure! We were so busy after the wedding that we didn’t have a chance to dive in and get it all done at once. When Stevie built me a closet storage – that’s when it hit me that I married the man of my dreams (kidding ha!). Seriously, when he built that closet I started noticing more areas of the house coming together. I know you guys see the goober side of Stevie a lot, but when it comes to duties around the house he is so serious and hands on. I love it! We just got a new rug for the living room last night and we’re so excited to lay it out and see!
I am truly blessed with an amazing husband, and I never want to take that for granted. Tomorrow we’re heading to Texas for our reception party which is taking place this weekend. We decided last minute to keep it super non-formal and low-key. We’re having a bunch of friends and family join us at Stevie’s parents’ home in Austin for a catered celebration. I decided to leave my wedding dress here in LA and wear a summer dress instead. I’m excited to kick back and chill with everyone!
And since this post is about weddings, take a peek at this cute little wedding special on Popsugar that I got to be a guest on last week! It was so fun getting to talk about weddings with Shenae Grimes! Click play to watch below
I don’t understand why some say your life officially ends after marriage. I feel like my life just started! I’ve been feeling inspired to start sharing more lifestyle/relationship posts. Maybe a couple of videos too? Should I?? K. I’m currently heading to Texas with the hubby. Stay tuned for more posts during our travels..

Just another day rompin’ around in LA! Let’s face it, rompers should really be called summer uniforms. I lost count of how many times I’ve worn one since the start of summer. This one has to be number 357.
I found the perfect excuse to wear this colorful romper out and about for a lunch date the other day. It was really easy to style with a pair of sandals, fun sunnies and a bold orange lip. I’ve been looking for a colorful floral print style like this forever. I love the pops of yellow, blue, green and light pink (all my fave colors). Is it weird that I think this romper would also look cute with a white tee underneath?
If you’re not in the mood to splurge on this one, check out some of the other affordable cute options below!
A big problem I run into every time I’m packing for a trip is narrowing down the amount of makeup products I can take with me. The struggle is real! I’m always getting new eyeshadow palettes but I can never take them with me because 1.) they take up too much space, and 2.) I only really use two colors in the 50 piece set. Oops. Regardless, I hate not having options to take with me.
Good news. There’s a solution. I recently learned that one of my favorite makeup brands Buxom has launched their new eyeshadow bar letting you customize your own 6-piece palette.
It all starts with choosing from 40 high-pigmented colors that are primer-infused, meaning that there’s no need to prep with a primer. The color will stay put! Buxom created 3 pre-made palettes to choose from if you are not up to creating your own customized palette. I decided to have fun with it and go through with customizing my own palette!
The hardest part was narrowing it down to 6 of my favorite shades. Before I got lost in all the pretty colors, I imagined what my ideal palette would look like. Instantly I was drawn to creating a Day to Night transition palette to match my lifestyle. The colors I chose in my palette are 3 light/warm tones for the daytime look and more dramatic silvery hues for the night. Obviously you have the choice to mix and match whatever colors you want, but I prefer subtle shades during the day and darker for night. I even added a little pop of purple for those daring nights when I want to spice things up.
Left to Right: Satin Seduction, Bold Bling, Star Treatment, Lacy Chic, Pure Platinum, Wild Nights (shop all)
I decided to test out my new customized palette and show you guys 2 looks I created. The first one below is day time inspired. This is an everyday makeup look I can wear at home, the office or on vacation. It’s light and natural. The eyeshadow colors I used here were Satin Seduction, Bold Bling and Star Treatment. I went for a light blush and nude lip. See products below
For the evening, I decided to spice things up by mixing the Lacy Chic and Pure Platinum eyeshadows together to create a smokey effect. I always went for a brighter blush color and darker lip. Va Va Voom! Keep in mind – the palette is refillable so you can play with as many colors and styles as you’d like.
