Hey guys! First of all it’s Friday. Yaaaaay! Second, I was planning on sharing a Youtube video with you guys but I haven’t had a chance to edit it yet so I’ll just have to wait until Monday. Womp,Womp. On a lighter note, I just got a new gig on TV! I will be hosting weekly MyHabit style segments on Access Hollywood twice a week (Every Thursday morning and Wednesday evening). This is my second week in and I’ve received awesome feedback from the team and all of you guys so thanks for the kind words! I plan on sharing a vlog (at some point) to show you guys what goes on behind the scenes! Hang tight!
Today I’m sharing all the details behind this littlenavy jumpsuitI wore from Kelly Osbourne’s collection called Stories by KO. Rompers are always great to turn to when you want to be comfortable but chic at the same time. I’m 5’2” and petite so it’s not everyday that I find a jumpsuit that fits. As you can see, I rolled up the bottom for an edgy touch but it’s just a personal style preference. The length actually sits perfectly right at the ankle before I scrunched it up incase you wanted to know!
If it wasn’t the first thing you noticed – my hair is in full Mufasa mode! I let it air dry the night before and ran a small curling wand through it to keep the mane looking tamed. I’m still in the experimental phase trying various hairstyles on my new short hair so hopefully many tutorials to come. Should I share a tutorial on this hairstyle?
P.S On a somewhat totally random note, I’m going to start sharing my current favorite apps. I know there are tons of apps out there so hopefully I can help through my personal obsazzions. I currently have tons on my phone that range from games to photo editors and even some fun fashion apps. I’ll try to sprinkle one in my posts every now and then in case you’re on the hunt to try a fun new one! My latest download is theWear.jpApp – heard of it? Basically it’s an app that makes it easy to create, share, and shop with the global fashion community. Personally, I have been using it to draw inspiration on those days when I feel like I don’t know what in the world to wear ( & yes! I totally have those days!!! #sazanprobs). I’m always inspired by all the street style out there. I recently started a page socheck it out!
Spring has officially come knocking on my door! Just the other day we hit 90 degrees in LA, which can only mean one thing… it’s time to get those pedicures and show off your toes! I got my hands on two colorful open-toe styles from Nine West that inspired me to create an outfit guide to help you transition into the new season. So if you’re looking for a little outfit inspiration (with Easter right around the corner!), I hope this helps.
First up, I’m pretty sure a colorful and printed dress is a must for spring. A dress like this makes it easy to look festive for Easter and stylish at the same time. Best of all – I found the perfect pink heelsto match. I love a comfy peep-toe shoe. You can wear this style casually during the day or dress it up for a fun night! (Saz tip: If you’re daring with your wardrobe, try styling these heels with light-weight socks. Take it from the runway to the realway)
My next look is channeling sophisticated, edgy and chic all in one. This spring I feel like it’s going to be a hot trend to match your bold bottoms with your shoe color. This cobalt blue skirt met it’s match with these peek-a-boo cut-out heels. (Saz tip: If you have skinny chicken ankles like me, go for a higher rise heel like these. It helps flatter!)
Now I’m really pumped for Easter! I’m sure plenty more outfit ideas are on the way but in the meantime, which of these two looks is your fave?!
Today I’m SO excited to debut my short haircut with you! Watch on my channel!
As many of you saw on my Insta, I decided to just go for it and chop it all off this past week. Let me just say, after my first wash I noticed I lifted A LOT of weight off my shoulders. Although it was a spontaneous decision, I’ve actually been dwelling on it since last November. I knew it would be a drastic change so I wanted to have plenty of time to ponder on it! I didn’t want it to end up being one of those indecisive Sazan moments I make and then regret. #SazanProbs
Fun fact: This is the first short haircut I’ve ever had (elementary school when my mom used to cut it doesn’t count). Naturally, I had to document the entire experience and share it with all of you. It’s a moment I never want to forget. It’s a big deal!! I know it’s “just hair”, but it’s my favorite accessory.
I hope you guys approve of the new look! Comment below and let me know? If any of you reading this are on the fence about chopping off your mane, here’s a tip. I think it comes down to knowing your face shape and finding the right style. My hairdresser explained to me how there are tons of short hairstyles out there that can work if you really want to go shorter! It’s all about the technique. I hope my hair transformation inspires your next big change. I know the hardest part after getting a drastic haircut is learning how to style it without spending hours in the bathroom. I’ve got tons of video tutorials on the way as I’m experimenting with new looks that I’ve always wanted to try but resisted, because my hair was so long in the past. Stay tuned + Sazscribe!!
In the video I rocked my natural afro (with touch-ups with my Nume wand) but you also saw it straight at the salon. Which look do you like more? I can’t wait to try beach waves next.
Cheers to a great week!
Special thanks to my go-to hairdresser Lee Rittiner at Sally Hershberger salon in LA for transforming my look! If you’re in the LA area and you want to book an apt email him at LRittiner@gmail.com.
With all the traveling I’ve been doing lately, I’m starting to notice the toll it’s taken on my skin. The airplane always dries out my face and I hate it! I decided to test the waters (pun intended!) by giving Simple’s new Micellar Cleansing Water a try and to hopefully re-hydrate my skin.
I had to do a little research before incorporating this product into my skincare regimen because a lot of ingredients out there can affect my sensitive skin. My biggest fear is breaking out after trying a new product. It’s the worst! However all formulations for Simple Skincare passed my initial test. It’s pH balanced, made with added vitamins, dermatologist tested, non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic and paraben-free.
Now let’s face the facts (I’m so punny today). The second thing that caught my attention was the fact that you don’t have to rinse after applying this cleanser to your face. Say what!? It was a little weird at first but once you apply the product to your face you’ll instantly see why. No need!
The Micellar Cleansing Water is also designed to thoroughly cleanse and instantly hydrate the skin with its triple-purified water. It undergoes a triple-purification process that helps remove contaminants known to irritate skin and helps to dissolve impurities from dirt, oil and as you can see below it removes makeup. (Just what I need!)
How to use
My rating: I give this product 4 Saz-Stars. I love the product for being innovative and staying away from harsh chemicals. It gets the job done. The only thing I’m still getting used to is the not-rinsing factor. I keep forgetting! Other than that, I’m excited to bring this bad boy with me on my next #SazanTravels. Before I go, I’m excited to share that you too can #TestTheWaters! hehe. Receive a free sample of Micellar Cleansing Water while supplies lastHERE. As always, you can purchase the product anytime at Target- wait until you see how affordable it is! Thanks for stopping by my loves. Have a skin-tastic day! (I love puns)!!
Special thanks to Simple Skincare for sponsoring this post. All words/opinions are my own. xx
HIDE YO BAGS, HIDE YO CIRCLES!!! Happy lovers! Today on my Youtube channelI’m addressing a very serious face matter – Dark circle and puffy bags. UGHHHHH! I know I’m not alone when I say this: Concealing dark circles and heavy bags is probably the hardest part when it comes to mastering the art of makeup. Some of you might disagree, but you must be the few percentage in the population that has zero bags! Today I’m showing you how to conceal the issue.. with makeup! I am no makeup artist, just a gal who has been researching and asking professionals what the trick is. I am so curious how celebrities hide their bags so I went on a hunt and found a technique that not only works AMAZING but it’s also an easy DIY. As promised, linked below are all the products I used on my face (including some that weren’t mentioned)
There’s something so chic about a sleek bun hairstyle. I never in a million years thought I would become a fan of a slick-back look. I remember the days in elementary school when I would wet my bangs and comb them with a tooth brush to achieve a perfect ‘wet look’. It looked terrible! ha Those days are far gone but now I’m rocking a new sleek hairstyle: the polished low-bun.
I’ve found this look to be really helpful on those days when I don’t have time to do much with my hair but I still want to look like I tried. Who would have thought a bun could be so chic?
The steps for creating this look are super easy. The key is finding the right product to achieve the wet look without it looking greasy or too wet. It wasn’t too long ago when I shared a tutorial on my channel.
For this look, I also used a dry oil mixed with coconut oil. I prefer Dove’s dry oil serum but you can honestly use any type of smoothing serum. The first step is to make sure you’ve straightened your hair (esp the top half) and to part your hair down the middle or more on one side. Depending on how much hair you have and how sleek you want it to look, apply a generous amount of the serum to the palm of your hand. With your other hand, grab a quarter- sized amount of coconut oil and then mix the two together. Next, apply it directly to the top regions of your hair. This includes the bangs, side-burns and crown of your hair. Then, simply grab a comb or brush the sides until you feel it looks sleek and appropriate to tie back. Use bobby pins to secure any loose ends and a medium hold hairspray to lock in the look and ease fly aways (a.k.a the static hair strands).
Wah-la! So easy. Should I do a video tutorial on this look? It literally took me less than 5 minutes to create!
Happy almost Friday! I’m always crushing on a fun new color. Right now, I have a serious case of pink fever and don’t know how to cure it. I’ve noticed my eyes keep checking out pretty pink things when I’m out shopping. Whether I’m wearing pink on my lips or styling it into my everyday life, the color makes me feel so feminine. I’m tapping into the depths of my girly soul.
On that note. Everyone has been asking me about this amazing cardigan/jacket creation. Bittersweet news. Bad news – My cousin from Sweden actually got it for me from one of my fave Swedish stores Gina Tricot (it’s like Forever 21 except better) so my USA readers won’t be able to order it. Better news – I’ve been on a hunt looking for similar styles and found some cute ones I think you will like! I know nothing is as great as the original but when it comes to pink it’s all about finding the right stand-out shade!
There’s something so chic about wearing all white and nude. I kept it pretty relaxed so that the pink jacket can be the center of attention. And of course, there’s the bag. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of black and white stripes. The pattern always comes through for me when I’m trying to keep my outfits fun and energetic. (like me! hehe)
What color(s) are you currently crushing over? Plz Share!
Hey cuties! It’s been a week since I’ve been back from Colorado and I’m already wishing I could go back. I had such an amazing trip, and I am super stoked today to share my travel vlog- as promised. I decided to take this trip as a vacation to rest my mind, body and soul! It was just what I needed. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner in crime to take on Denver with than Mr. Stevie Hendrix. This video really shares our goofier sides and I’m warning you – I’m not wearing any makeup in most of these shots! haa. What can I say, I was on vacation #AkaLAZY
I was up last night until 4 am editing this video. There was so much footage to sort through! I’m really happy with the way it turned out and I hope this vlog will inspire you to visit Colorado if you haven’t already. It is such a beautiful place. If you’re a nature lover like me, I totally recommend you visit asap!
Hope you enjoyed the video! Please saz-scribeto my channel for updates on new videos I upload etc. Also comment and let me know if I should do more vlogs + if you guys want to see more of my crazy Stevie!!
I’ve always wondered why Fridays have been recognized as the popular “Jeans Day.” That thought created another thought. Why are jeans a go-to fave? Is it because they’re comfortable? Easy to style? Great for hiding the hairy legs? and while we’re at it, where do jeans come from?
Just like humans, jeans have evolved since the beginning of their time. Over the past three months, I have been a Blogger in Residence for YMI Jeans. Through out this journey, I’ve been able to put my questions to the test and explore ‘behind the seams’. I took you guys on a tour of YMI headquarters, showed you how to DIY denim, and I even interviewed the CEO of the company. For my last assignment, I still needed one question answered. What is it about jeans that make it never go out of style? I’m putting my reporting skills (and college degree!) to use by uncovering the answer to my question. While we’re at it, I’m also sharing tips for helping you find the right fit and style. Because there’s a lot! I’m on a mission. Hope you enjoy watching.
Thanks for watching! Visit my youtube channel to see more style videos. To shop any of the YMI styles you saw in the video, visit their site here. Hope you’ll saz-scribe while you’re at it.
Special thanks to Rachael Knight for editing this video.
After a week of traveling to Denver, Colorado for vacation – I’m finally back! I don’t want to give away too many details of my trip because I captured all my favorite moments on video which I’ll be sharing with you very soon!! Can’t wait.P.S. It was freeeeezing there.
On a warmer note, it’s good to be back in sunny California so I can get away with wearing cute little dresses likethis one today. It’s a fleece material so it’s perfect for those Cali days when it’s warm during the day but gets chilly at night. (Fun fact, I actually took this dress to Colorado and wore it as a tunic over my jeans.) As you can see, I decided to pair it with my newest kicks from DV that are super comfy – not to mention they add some height to my 5’2” frame. I think every gal should have a cute pair of black booties for spring!;)
Confession: I finally spring cleaned my room and discovered so many accessories that were hidden in my closet. #sazanprobs Of those accessories was this super cute denim clutch gal pal Deniz got me for my birthday from her super cute online shop Private Cartel. I can’t believe I forgot about it! #OOPS #ILOVEDENIM
Time to catch up on some work and then head out to a pirate dinner in Anaheim with my friends. It’s going to be interesting so keep a look out on my insta for pics. Thanks for stopping by my blog cuties. I am so very excited to share some upcoming projects with you guys. You all motivate me each and every single day to keep creating fun content! In the meantime, I hope you’ll keep coming back for more style + beauty inspo.
