Delicious Turkey Chili Recipe (Healthy!) | Chef Saz

Fitness Food Lifestyle

Hey guys! I am super excited to finally settle into our new home! I decided to cook up our first home-cooked meal in the new kitchen and decided to go with a new turkey chili recipe. It turned out so delicious! I mixed a few recipes that I found online to create my best version. I’m running around like crazy, but it’s nice to cook up an easy meal that takes less than an hour. (you basically leave it on the stove and go!) I hope you will give it a try!
This turned out to be the perfectly spiced healthy chili made with lean ground turkey, kidney beans and corn.
recipe, recipes, turkey chili, food, lunch, home cooking, meals, sazan, healthy, lifestyle, eating, recipe, easy to make, fun
2 teaspoons olive oil
1 yellow onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 medium red bell pepper, chopped
1 pound extra lean ground turkey or chicken (99%)
4 tablespoons chili powder
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt, plus more to taste
1 (28-ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 1/4 cups chicken broth
1 (12-ounce) jar of salsa (less chunky the better)
2 (15 oz) cans dark red kidney beans, rinsed and drained (optional if you hate beans)
1 (15 oz) can sweet corn, rinsed and drained OR if you hate corn, chop up an extra red bell pepper and add to the mix.
Optional toppings: cheese, avocado, tortilla chips, cilantro, sour cream
Place oil in a large pot and place over medium high heat. Add in onion, garlic and red pepper and saute for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently. Next add in ground turkey and break up the meat; cooking until no longer pink. Next add in chili powder, cumin, oregano, cayenne pepper and salt; stir for about 20 seconds.
Next add in tomatoes, chicken broth, salsa, kidney beans and corn. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30-45 minutes or until chili thickens and flavors come together. Taste and adjust seasonings and salt as necessary. Garnish with fun toppings mentioned above if you’d like! (we prefer going with dairy-free sour cream and cheese option and it tastes just as great.)
*Makes 6 servings, about 1 1/2 cups each.
I can’t wait to cook more meals and share the recipes here on my blog! Let me know what you think. 🙂

I question I have regarding this Turkey Chilli recipe that I surely am thinking of trying out is, if there is something we can side this with?(a burrito may be?!) Or is it eaten just like that?

  2. Hi Sazan I have made this recipe three times and my family loves it! Im not a fan of ground turkey but with your recipe and perfect spice blend, you cannot even taste the turkey taste! Thank you for this recipe!
