Answering Your Questions About Retinol

Reviews Skincare Style

Hey hey heeeyyyy 🙂 I hope everyone is having an amazing start to your holiday season! I wanted to jump on here and intro you guys to an amazing new drugstore product…drumroll pleaseee…. Olay has come out with their very own RETINOL formulated products. I know- it’s amazing. Now I know everyone constantly has questions about retinol and there’s a lot of info out there, so I wanted to condense it here and hopefully give you guys some insight into retinol and Olay’s retinol products. I’ve personally been using their new Retinol24 eye cream and have been LOVING it. I legit saw results in just 24 hours, which is crazy. More info below- can’t wait to hear what you guys think and I hope this is helpful for you!

What does retinol do for your face?

Ok this is the biggest question I get because there are common misconceptions out there about Retinol and why you should use it. It’s NOT just for acne, although it does have amazing benefits for that! It can help with acne, anti-aging, smoothing, dryness, you name it. The new Olay Retinol24 collection is amazing because it makes your skin smoother and brighter in 24 hours, provides 24- hour hydration and works in your skin for 24 hours. What?! One thing I love since I’ve started using it is: I don’t have to wear SO much makeup all the time, because my skin is that much smoother.

Should I use retinol before or after I moisturize?

So I recommend using it before you moisturize, because I like to do my skincare from the thinnest product first to the thickest product last. Obviously your moisturizer is usually the thickest product you use on your face, so we do that one last. If you’re using Olay’s new Retinol24 collection, it was designed in a specific way to make it easier to find the perfect place in your routine…which is so nice! The collection has a serum, a moisturizer, and an eye cream, all with the ingredient retinol, and you can apply the one you like most into your skincare routine 🙂

What are the typical side effects of retinol?

So for me, my skin dried out when I first tried retinol. Totally normal!! Please note though, that retinol doesn’t have to irritate your skin to work. Everyone’s skin is different, so you just have to try it and listen to your skin to see how much and how often you should use. The cool thing about Olay’s collection is that 96% of users didn’t experience irritation with Retinol24. The products are great for sensitive skin! 🙂

Hope this helpful for you guys! Comment below and let me know if you’ve tried retinol at all OR Olay’s new line. I wanna hear about your experience! Thanks babes

xoxo Sazan

  1. Hey Sazan! I’ve heard of the benefits of retinol and although I’m sure my skin would love it, I’m trying to conceive and that’s why I’m avoiding it! I remember you posting that you’re also trying for baby #2, so maybe look into that!

  2. I have not tried it yet, but I would like to make a pleasant surprise for my sister. I am extremely glad that you answered. I hope you are also happy and can easily cooperate. All of these products from this company are simply unique, and in truth I am very surprised. I can’t wait to try it already … Thank you for sharing this information with me)))

    1. good idea! But for now, I’m trying to be productive and work on things I’ve been putting off 🙂 but also, resting has been really nice during this time. It’s all about what you need!
