Think shades of green, purple, and blue (hence the term jewel/gem tones). I decided to take this trend and re-invent it into my beauty life. I get bored with my makeup easily so I happily decided to give this a try. If you’re also kind of over your makeup style- try this out for your next look. I experimented with blue eye-liner for the first time last November when I was in NYC shooting videos with Target. Surprisingly, I ended up loving the eye-liner so much that I went and bought one after! Who would have thought that a little pop of color could transform your eyes? For my look below, I decided to go more dramatic by adding a dark purple lip to spice up this look (so great for night time!). If it’s too much for you then make adjustments where you need to. Whether that’s trading in the dark lip stick for a subtle nude lip gloss, or eliminating the eyeshadow and simply wearing the eye-liner by it self- You make the rules sista!
Simple How-to: I used an eyeshadow palette to create a shimmery/smokey base (optional). Tip: I used a dark matte shadow to define the crease of my eye and around the edges for a smokey look. Then I applied a few coats of the blue eye-liner (to really make it pop) and then finished off the look with my volume mascara and bold lipstick.

Since it’s Martin Luther King JR. day I want to leave you with one of his amazing quotes. He is truly one of the most inspirational and profound leaders of our time. “Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.”

Today I’m partnering up with Target to bring you another fun little trend report. Let’s talk about nautical fashion, shall we?! The nautical trend isn’t exactly new. It’s a style however that is known to spice up any wardrobe in an effortless and preppy-chic way. I personally became a huge fan of this preppy sailor trend this season. I’ve paired practically every button-down I own underneath a sweater or dress to give it that nautical edge. And don’t get me started on stripes! Ob-sazzed.
Ironically, it feels like summer in LA right now (so weird!) which is why I got away with showing off some legs. If you’re living in a colder city, no worries- you can still incorporate this trend into your personal style with felted wools, sailor-style buttons, uniform stripes and even fun nautical-inspired jewelry. Think bold. A bright red or orange lip can also be another really fun way to incorporate nautical in your beauty life.
Are you a fan of this trend!? If so, what nautical styles are your favorite!?

TGIF! Today I’m tackling another really great fall trend brought to you by Target! Let’s talk about embellished fashion for a minute. Some love it and some hate it! Are you a fan of a little bling-bling!? If you’re asking for my opinion, I think embellished pieces are a GREAT and easy way to add an eye-catching statement to your wardrobe. Sometimes I hate finding the perfect jewelry and accessories to liven up my outfit, so it’s nice sometimes when the bling is already embellished on the shirt or handbag I’m rockin.’
From the Runway to Everyday
During the Target fashion show in New York last month, I couldn’t help but notice all of the cute embellished pieces on the runway. I specifically loved all the statement necklaces, embellished collars on button-downs and of course, I spazzed out when I saw some shoe bling. If you’re nervous about trying this trend, don’t be! However, I understand fashion can be intimidating and it’s human nature to avoid things we aren’t comfortable with. My advice? Gradually try to work your way up to embellished attire if you’re not ready to make a bold jeweled statement. A simple embellished headband or piece of jewelry will do the trick! That way you’ll still feel a part of fall’s embellished trend party!
P.S. Random side note! My Instagram page has been acting so strange lately. It deletes all the comments under some of my pictures and hides my captions under these pics! So weird. Sorry if I am not seeing all your comments- fingers crossed it gets fixed soon!
Anyways ya’ll! Have an awesome and stylish weekend!!

Trending: Some might say the USA print trend is overplayed in fashion, but I will proudly pledge to disagree. This trend is a fierce one and that’s why it’s still around! I love the American pride that has swept the fashion streets all over the globe, and as long as you don’t look like a walking flag from head to toe, keep on wearing the red, white and blue.
Have a spaztastic day! *Salutes*
