A print I’ve been wearing all summer long? Stripes, stripes and more stripes. I’ve been in such a stripes kind of mood lately and in fact all season long. First a little striped dress and now this vertical striped blouse tucked into my denim boyfriend shorts. I guess what I’m trying to say is, you can never have too many striped pieces in your closet. I don’t know what it is but I instantly feel chic when I’m wearing stripes.
And speaking of chic, I think all black accessories (including shoes!) are a great way to help tie a bold look together. You can’t go wrong with black. Ever.
Off to meetings I go. Hope you all have a great rest of the day!!
Happy Monday! I know Mondays suck, but I’m so glad to be back in LA today after a month of traveling. I’m still getting back into the swing of things (aka I’m still Jet-lag #helpme) so for today’s post I’m sharing my current obsazzion which happens to be makeup (shocker). I love buying makeup. Sometimes I find myself walking into a makeup store for one thing and then I leave with 10 things. #oops Is anyone else like that? (Don’t leave me hangin’!)
Long story longer, I’m not someone who is loyal to one brand of makeup. I know, I’m a little makeup slut as some will call it. Regardless of mixing and matching products in my makeup life, when I find something I like I usually stick to it. Stila Cosmetics is hands down my favorite brand for shopping eyeliners. I recently did a Youtube video using their smudge stick eyeliner and created an entire smokey eye pretty much using just that! (watch it here)
I was inspired to try more of their products since I loved the eyeliner so much. Check out my review of some new products I got and tested below!
– Product Details (from pic above!) –
Blush –This blush seriously made me blush (pun intended!). I LOVE LOVE this blush especially when I’m in the mood for wearing little makeup. It focuses on giving my cheeks a natural flushed look – which I adore!Shop the Shades: Camellia, Sweet Pea
Lip gloss – This lip gloss (you’ve prob seen like in this pic from my IG above) is currently my fave gloss that I own. No joke. It’s not just a regular ole’ lipgloss that fades away after two seconds of applying. This is one of the first matte lip glosses/stains I’ve found that won’t dry out my lips and make them look like a croissant basically. Shop the shade:NUDE Vinyl
Eyeliner – More like life-saver. This eye-liner seriously changed the game for me. The pigment is so rich and one I can count on. (plus the fact that it’s waterproof!) I just not discovered there is a rainbow of other shades available. Definitely need to try! Shop the shade: Stingray Jet Black Liquid Eyeliner –If you’re a liquid eye-liner kind of gal (which I am too) Stila’s liquid eye-liner in a stick makes it really easy to create that perfect line. I will admit the pigment isn’t as rich as the smudge-stick eye-liner but it can be helpful to use to create the cat-eye shape and fill in with with another eye-liner as needed.Shop the Shade:Jet Black
The best advice I can give to those of you who are currently in the thought process of, “Omg it’s time to change my makeup,” visit your local Sephora or makeup store with a clean face and invest an hour or two of your time to sample different makeup products and brands. It’s so important to know your skin type before you go (I wrote about this before..read here)or ask a consultant when you’re there! 😉
Hello sparkleeees! When I said you can style this denimbutton-up with anything – clearly I meant it. When I threw this outfit together in Kurdistan, I was inspired by the Kurdish sequin pants that the culture wears underneath our traditional Kurdish dresses (it’s a custom that’s been around for decades). They are handmade to perfection. I’ve gone through so many sparkly colored pants since I was a kid that I wish I saved them for my future daughter (after I try really hard to squeeze into them myself). It’s so crazy to see it today evolve into a modern day trend that daring fashionistas are styling into their wardrobes. Mainstream/designer brands like Moschino have also made it look chic from the runway to the realway. I’m glad this trend has come out from hiding and is inspiring women of all shapes and sizes to embrace sexy pants in a classy way. For me personally, it’s inspiring to wear them out with a purpose that’s no longer just for hiding underneath my pretty Kurdish dress.
TGIF! Have a lovely weekend and don’t forget to look fabulous, girl. 😉
Happy Thursday! After 14+ hours traveling, I am back in the United States! It’s good to be back! I’m here in Texas for a few days before stepping on a plane again to LA – my final destination! I don’t get how some of my fellow bloggers can handle the jet-life! I love traveling to new places, but I also enjoy being in my home environment. Thankfully I have a month to re-coop before traveling again.
Today I’m sharing this oh so colorful look I wore in Kurdistan last week. As many of you saw on my Instagram teaser pic, I rocked my natural curls because I didn’t have time to style my hair. The family was rushing me because we were invited out to dinner. ha #SazanProbs
Sorry there aren’t as many pics in this post. I had my little brother snap some quick shots before I had to jump in the car and head to our dinner. I couldn’t find this jumpsuit for you guys on Forever 21’s site but I linked several similar options below. And if you’re not a floral kind of gal, I found this black jumpsuit which is a must-have.
Hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Would love to hear your thoughts on the jumpsuit trend!

Happy Monday from Kurdistan! I’m so sad to say that today is my last day here before heading back to the states tomorrow. I’ll be sharing the remainder of my outfits I wore here throughout the week as well as a full trip recap/travel diary next week! Can’t wait to reflect back and share my experience!!
This outfit you see I wore casually over the weekend. For some reason, when I spot colors that I like, I find a way to combine them together to make an outfit pop that much more. Thesemirrored sunnies compliment my coloredskinnies and vice versa (or at least I’d like to think so!) #colorobsazzed
It’s a bittersweet feeling leaving this place (it has been so relaxing!) and with only a month of summer left, I wish time would slow down a little! ha Nonetheless, I’m ready to get back to ‘reality’ because I have some exciting stuff coming up! To update you (I feel like I need to since I haven’t been posting regularly!) – I just found out today that I will be going to the EMMY AWARDS (ahhhh!!!) which I’m SO thrilled about! Need to find a dress ASAP. Also, Beauty Con and a quick trip to Vegas are on my August agenda so get ready to come along for the ride. I’m also in the midst of prepping for New York Fashion Week in September which can be stress-city. I have some exciting collaborations cooking up that I think you will enjoy. I love being able to take you along + share these experiences with you. It’s really cool seeing the different responses I get when I travel to different places! Stay tuned for updates my loves.
Have a great rest of your day + stylish week!
P.S Happy Eid today to those of you who celebrate! <3
Hey friends! Today I’m sharing an exotic eyes tutorial that I created for you on my Youtube channel! Since being here in Kurdistan, I have been so inspired by all of the beautiful things around me – from the nature to the yummy food and pretty women of all shapes and sizes. One thing I’ve noticed is the women out here loveeee their bold eye makeup! I’m not one to rock this look everyday but it’s definitely one that I don’t mind playing with. Some of you may hate me when I say the ‘K’ word, but I feel like the Kardashians really took this Middle Eastern inspired trend and made it globally glamorous. I decided to jump on the trend-wagon and create my version of this hot smokey eye that hopefully you’ll give a try. If any of you ladies are really in the mood to spice things up, you can also try this look with colorful eye-liner shades like green or blue. Totally exotic meets summer. I hope you enjoy the video! Would love if you could subscribe to my Youtube for more upcoming videos! Happy watching!
Today I’m celebrating the launch of Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale with you which is so major you don’t want to brush this sale off your shoulders! For those who aren’t familiar, Nordstrom does this AMAZING annual sale where tons of their brands release their fall collections at hugely discounted prices. Basically you can get next season’s hottest trends at such an affordable cost. The sad part? It’s for a limited time only. #poop!
Although I’m in Kurdistan, I was lucky enough to grab some goodies from their sale before I left (thank you Nordstrom!). I bought tons of stuff so I decided to create 2 outfit series to show you what I bought! This is the first one. I love mixing denim with practically anything and everything. It’s such a timeless print. You can never go wrong with having a denim button-up (or two!) in your closet. I paired mine with this glamorous sequin skirt that I can instantly see myself styling a million times over for various occasions. I just had to have it! I think my favorite thing about this outfit though are the shoes. Can I get an OMG heart in the eyes Emoji!?!? They’re Steve Madden and my eyes were instantly drawn to the pretty cobalt blue and straps! With the sale going on these are currently marked down to $89! Get them while they’re hot, ladies!
Stay tuned for my second outfit from the #NSALE!

I got to explore Kurdistan more over the past few days and I’m enjoying the beauty and soaking up as much of it as I can! I hope you all are joining me on the adventure at #sazantravels on my Instagram (@sazanbarzani).
I am trying to keep as cool as possible (while still wearing appropriate attire) so I decided to rock all white for a chill day out and about at the Hawler street market and cute shops. A crisp white button-up was all I needed to keep me calm and cool in this 100 degree+ desert. It’s another really great what I like to call, ‘re-piece,’ a piece you can repeat over and over. (similar option here). Since I was channeling a chic look, I kept my hair in a high pony tail and wore black accessories with a pop of leopard to stand out. #SoSazan
Hawler/Erbil is such a beautiful place that I’m glad I got to experience. There was literally so much history around me that I can’t help but be mesmerized by the beauty of the moment. It was great getting to see the ancient citadel in the city which has been around since B.C! It literally gave me chills looking at it. Shopping in Hawler was also great (I’m going back soon for more!) – It reminded me of that scene in Sex and The City 2 when Carrie was shopping around in the Souk! I found the cutest handmade bag (see it below) which is super colorful and middle-easterny.
Hope you’re having a fantastic week! I can’t wait to share more from here in Kurdistan!
Good afternoon from the Middle East! I am so happy to be here in Kurdistan with my family! To update you, I traveled about 16 hours to get here and the time difference is 10 hours in front of Los Angeles time. So crazy! I’ve been taking it easy the past few days trying to adjust to the time because it’s been very difficult! So far, I’ve been enjoying family time, good food and a little bit of shopping! It’s been 8 years since I last visited Kurdistan and boy it has changed so much! (in a good way) They have everything here now – it’s so great to see society advance!
This outfit I’m sharing today I wore on my first day here (as many of you saw a peek of on my IG). I bet you can’t tell it’s like 100 degrees outside! A light-weightblazer and relaxed trousers are going to be key for me on this trip. It’s so hot here but I’m showing my respect to the culture by dressing more conservative and refined. Basically, I don’t have to shave my legs while I’m here so what’s not to love? haha kidding. By the way I shot this on our roof. The homes here in Kurdistan are so cool because you can chill/lounge on the rooftop like it’s no big deal.
I also want to mention it isn’t mandatory here for women to cover their heads with a scarf. There’s this misconception sometimes that women in the Middle East are covered up from head-to-toe. That isn’t the case here as women are given the choice to decide if they want to wear it.
I’m having such a great time creating memories with my family, relaxing and eating yummy Kurdish food! I can’t wait to explore more and share pictures with you guys!
– My Outfit Details – Nasty Gal: Top, Shorts, Heels (ALL ON SALE!) Bag: Louis Vuitton Sunglasses: Quay Fedora: Nordstrom (old, shop similar)
Today I’m sharing my summer outfit I wore yesterday in the hot Texas heat! I’ve been on the hunt for some new distressed denim shorts and found a pair (on sale!) that I instantly fell in love with and HAD TO HAVE. I love that they’re longer (a trend I’m diggin’ right now) and super comfy. I can see myself styling them over and over again for the day or night. Since I wanted to show off the shorts and keep it summery, I added a cute little crop-top (also on sale!)and fedora to compliment the look. You guys know I’m color obsazzed so I knew these green heels would be the perfect wildcard piece to make outfit fierce and chic. The fact that they were only $34 marked on sale was an added bonus. My kinda shopping!
Hope you all have a stylish weekend! I’m traveling to Kurdistan today. It’s going to be a longgggg flight so join me along for the adventure onInstagram. <3
