And so the packing process begins. As I prepare for my month long getaway, I’m finding myself not waiting last minute to pack (for once!) and realizing this totally affects the process in a good way. When it comes to shopping for a trip, Target is always my one-stop shop. It’s literally one of those places I go in to buy one thing and end up leaving with a shopping cart full. I recently spotted this summery striped carry-on bag that I actually thought was purse until I opened it and noticed how spacious it expands. I instantly pictured everything inside from my lap-top, snacks and magazines to my in-flight accessories and more. I’m glad I ended up getting it because it’s a colorful way to travel in style. Fun fact: I travel a lot and in the beginning I used to panic and forget things, but now I’ve got a system down. I’ve learned that if you plan all your outfits ahead of time (with a few extra as back-up options) and make a list of things not to forget the day before you leave, you’ll be panic-free and as cool as a cucumber at the airport terminal (unlike my hotmess self).
5 Easy Tips for Packing Light:
1. Don’t wait last minute! (I’m guilty of this)
2. Make a list of what you can’t forget and check it off the items as you pack them away.
3. Roll your clothing (instead of folding!) to make more room in your luggage/carry-on.
4. Plan your outfits ahead of time and write them down so you don’t forget. This prevents you from over-packing.
5. Utilize travel-size containers for shampoo, face wash, lotion etc. This will save you tons of luggage space/weight!
Hope this helped! xx

Today I’m talking hair! Duh. I decided to create two ways that you can style your hair with the XO Styling Iron created by fellow blogger babe/friend Cara at A Fashion Love Affair. I’ve actually been in need of a new straightener (that also curls!) for a while so I thought why not trade in my crusty flat iron (ha!) and give this one a try.
I curled my hair with this iron in probably 5-10 minutes max! It’s a new record! I think the trick is that the iron has a smooth outside texture which makes it super easy to curl through my hair without unwanted creases and having to do a million repeats. Here I used Bumble and Bumble’s magic serum in a bottle which is a heat protector, texturizer and smoother all in one. Seriously it will change your hair life.
I love my wavy curls but sometimes I also love a sleek straight look. Since I have a lot o hair I straightened small sections at a time to get that super straight/sleek look. My hair is naturally really curly so I ran my blow dryer through it first with a good round brush and then straightened over it with the flat iron. Total time: 30 minutes.
I noticed my hair felt smoother and looked shinier than before and the same goes for when I curled it. It’s also a plus for me that this iron is super lightweight which will be perfect for my upcoming travels. Which of my two looks do you prefer?

Top: H&M (old, shop similar here, here + here) // Tribal Shorts: Boohoo (more styles here + here) // Sandals: Just Fab (old, shop similar here + here) // Necklace: Milk & Honey (old, shop similar here + UK here) // Sunglasses: Karen Walker (cheaper option here) // Clear Bag: ASOS (old, shop similar) // Gold Tattoos: Jacquie Aiche // Lipstick: NYX
I’m feeling totally boho in my new tribal-print shorts today and loving every comfortable minute of it. Comfort is definitely key for me – especially on days when I’m running around like a chicken with my head cut off. On another note, I’ve totally lost count of how many times I’ve worn this black crop top. It has become a closet staple for me. I’ve dressed it up with a skirt, worn it casually with jeans, and the list goes on. It’s summer so nude strappy sandals are a must (and so are the pretty pedicures!). I love how my gold tattoos are still poppin’ which gives this look a cool/chill vibe without having to over-accessorize.
Who’s ready for the weekend?!?

Surprise, surprise! For the past month I’ve been teasing my upcoming international trip and finally TODAY I’m revealing my next #SazanTravels vacation! In less than one month I’m heading to the homeland! It has been 8 YEARS since I last visited Kurdistan (in Northern Iraq) so I’m very excited to re-connect with family, friends, THE FOOD (yum!) and hopefully even meet some of my sweet Kurdish fans along the way! For those of you not familiar with Kurdistan, don’t you worry because I will be sharing my journey with all of you when I get back. It’s funny when I tell people I’m going to Iraq, the look on their faces is priceless. The media has painted this scary picture of Iraq (and yes in some parts it can be scary ESP right now), but Kurdistan is one of the most peaceful places in the middle east. Kurdistan in Iraq is an autonomous region, meaning that even though it’s not its own country we have our own government. The Kurdish people are so friendly and the places you will see are so beautiful. I’ll only be there for two weeks and might have limited access to internet and technology but I’ll be sure to update you guys as often as I can! When I get back, I’ll have a full recap.
This pretty kaftan dress I’m wearing in the pictures is actually a beach cover up I found at H&M last week. Crazy huh!!?! The print really caught my eye so I got creative and put a white slip underneath to make it into a long dress. Ironically it looks VERY similar to the traditional Kurdish dress and fabric we wear back home so it definitely worked out for me in more ways than one! I found similar styles here and here.
I hope you’re just as excited to see Kurdistan (through my pics!) as I am to share the journey. If any of you reading this are currently living in Kurdistan of Iraq and have places to suggest that I must see, please share! I’m sooooo excited!!! Stay tuned for more posts as I get ready for the big trip!

USA Tank: Chaser (on sale HERE) // Jeans: Black Orchid Denim available HERE (lighter wash option here)// Sneakers: Shop Exhale (plain option here) // Gold Tattoos: Jacquie Aiche // Bag/Tote: Graf & Lantz (similar options here + here) // Sunglasses: Celine
Happy Monday! Today is not going to be another typical Monday because the USA is playing today in the World Cup! I can’t wait to watch the game with my close pals at one of my fave local spots. Woo! And what better way to show my love than by wearing it? This super soft tank came in the mail just in time for the big game. It’s so cozy I’ll definitely be re-wearing it over and over again. My favorite pair of jeans that I own have also been on repeat lately. The fit is super skinny but stretchy and comfortable. Just the way I like it! I like to roll the bottom up to show off the high-tops. I’ll definitely be able to jump up and down cheering on my USA team! Are you going to watch?! #CanMondaysAlwaysBeThisFun
P.S Not sure you can tell but I added red hair chalk to the ends of my hair for a red-effect! It’s only temporary but it was pretty cool – I might do a tutorial. Talk about going all out for your team!
Before I go, I should mention that I’m sharing my next BIG #SazanTravels spot with you this week! Stay tuned to find out where I’m headed (and taking you along!) Can’t wait.
