There’s something so chic about a sleek bun hairstyle. I never in a million years thought I would become a fan of a slick-back look. I remember the days in elementary school when I would wet my bangs and comb them with a tooth brush to achieve a perfect ‘wet look’. It looked terrible! ha Those days are far gone but now I’m rocking a new sleek hairstyle: the polished low-bun.
I’ve found this look to be really helpful on those days when I don’t have time to do much with my hair but I still want to look like I tried. Who would have thought a bun could be so chic?
The steps for creating this look are super easy. The key is finding the right product to achieve the wet look without it looking greasy or too wet. It wasn’t too long ago when I shared a tutorial on my channel.
For this look, I also used a dry oil mixed with coconut oil. I prefer Dove’s dry oil serum but you can honestly use any type of smoothing serum. The first step is to make sure you’ve straightened your hair (esp the top half) and to part your hair down the middle or more on one side. Depending on how much hair you have and how sleek you want it to look, apply a generous amount of the serum to the palm of your hand. With your other hand, grab a quarter- sized amount of coconut oil and then mix the two together. Next, apply it directly to the top regions of your hair. This includes the bangs, side-burns and crown of your hair. Then, simply grab a comb or brush the sides until you feel it looks sleek and appropriate to tie back. Use bobby pins to secure any loose ends and a medium hold hairspray to lock in the look and ease fly aways (a.k.a the static hair strands).
Wah-la! So easy. Should I do a video tutorial on this look? It literally took me less than 5 minutes to create!
Thick eye brows are in. Thin eyebrows are..well, when were they ever in?
Happy Tuesday loves! Today on my Youtube channel, I’m showing you how easy it is to create natural thick eye brows without it looking overdone. Funny story – This video is actually an updated version to an old one I did on my channel. The quality is way better, plus I’ve completely changed up the routine. I’ve been using a new product now for my brows that has saved me a lot of time and energy in the bathroom. I hope this video helps you if you’re looking to acheive perfect thick eye brows. Watch below :))
I’m so excited and I just can’t hide it! Today I’m sharing one of my most exciting beauty collaborations yet! But first… is it just me or is life getting a little crazy busy? I’ve recently become a fan of hacks, quick and easy short-cuts for getting things done. Especially in the beauty department. My beauty life got a little easier after I recently joined Byrdie’s Beyond Beauty Hacks to create two fun and easy tutorials using Clinique’s Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer. Is it a foundation or a concealer? It’s BOTH! I freaked out a little bit from excitement when I found out. #obsazzed
If you struggle with the shaky makeup hand – watch how I used Clinique’s 2-in-1 foundation + concealer to perfect my pink pout and bold cat-eye. The clean-up has never been so easy!
Hope you liked!! It was literally a party on set (if you couldn’t tell with my dance moves). When leaving the studio, I left my makeup on and noticed it continued looking fresh for hours. For all my multi-tasking queens, I totally recommend trying Clinique’s Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer to enhance your next makeup look on the go! It comes in tons of shades so check out all the options here.
Special thanks to Clinique, the entire Byrdie crew, Director Justin Coit + Clique Studio for bringing this entire vision to life.
I know you guys probably have tons of questions about the products I used. I will say that Dove’s Advanced Series products have yet to disappoint me. They seem to have one for all hair types. I’m noticing they are quickly selling out of a lot of their advanced collections. (The DRY SHAMPOO is amazing!) Also, some of you might be thrown off by the fact that I use a volumizing GEL for this look. The one I use is from Aussie and it is super light-weight. I like the texture it creates in my hair. If your hair has a life-less/flat texture I especially recommend you try this. I use a quarter size and it helps if you flip your hair upside down and apply it to all areas with a little more in the roots and scalp before blow drying. (you can find it at Walmart for like $4!)
Today I’m sharing one of my favorite eye-makeup styles – the natural smokey eyes! This is a go-to style for me that’s not only easy for you to learn as well, but it’s also a great day-to-night transition look. I hope this video will inspire your next smokey eye makeup look!

Feel free to comment below letting me know what you think about the video. I also want to know what videos you guys want to see me film next. You can subscribe to my channel if you’d like an email notification every time a new video is posted. I’m totally on a roll so far in 2015! Cheers!
Today on my Youtube channel, I shared 10 uses for coconut oil. The deeper I’m digging in my research, the more shocked I become at the hundreds of ways you can use coconut oil. I decided to narrow it down to some of my personal favorites. P.S It isn’t just for cooking: it’s also a great alternative to add into your beauty life.
I hope you leave this video feeling entertained and informed. Some of these will totally shock you! Enjoy. 😉
I’ve been on a beauty post high lately! I get so excited to share new products with you and I hope you’re enjoying every bit of my Have to Have it series. I recently attended Burt’s Bees influencer lounge during New York Fashion Week where I discovered the launch of their new 100% natural lip crayons that are seriously my latest lip-sazzion. You know how a lot of matte lip crayons out there end up drying your lips and making them look like a croissant?! Well, find comfort in knowing that Burt’s Bees new lip crayons are magical in the sense that they deliver the total opposite effect. Smooth and chapped-free lips. I’ll admit that good lip crayons are hard to come around so I am super pumped to share that there is finally a lip crayon that won’t let you down. I mean come on if there’s one thing Burt’s Bees knows – it’s moisture. What’s their secret?
(Starting at top, left to right): Wearing Napa Vineyard, Carolina Coast, Niagara Overlook, Hawaiian Smolder, Sedona Sands
I learned that the secret lies in the ingredients. Every one of Burt’s Bees 6 shades offer creamy matte color and moisture-rich wear. Eachcrayon is enriched with conditioning Jojoba Oil and Kendi Oil, which are full of Omega 3 to hydrate and moisturize your lips. Shea Butter is also another key natural ingredient they use for an extra dose of moisture. It all makes sense now why the crayon I applied on my lips looked matte but felt super smooth. If you decide to give these new lip crayons a try (which you should!), know that there is no added flavor or fragrance. This is definitely one lip crayon that you can count on! 😉 #SazanApproved
Which shade is your favorite? Have an amazing weekend guys!
Random fact about Me: I like sleeping on cold pillows.
Happy Monday! I know Mondays suck, but I’m so glad to be back in LA today after a month of traveling. I’m still getting back into the swing of things (aka I’m still Jet-lag #helpme) so for today’s post I’m sharing my current obsazzion which happens to be makeup (shocker). I love buying makeup. Sometimes I find myself walking into a makeup store for one thing and then I leave with 10 things. #oops Is anyone else like that? (Don’t leave me hangin’!)
Long story longer, I’m not someone who is loyal to one brand of makeup. I know, I’m a little makeup slut as some will call it. Regardless of mixing and matching products in my makeup life, when I find something I like I usually stick to it. Stila Cosmetics is hands down my favorite brand for shopping eyeliners. I recently did a Youtube video using their smudge stick eyeliner and created an entire smokey eye pretty much using just that! (watch it here)
I was inspired to try more of their products since I loved the eyeliner so much. Check out my review of some new products I got and tested below!
– Product Details (from pic above!) –
Blush –This blush seriously made me blush (pun intended!). I LOVE LOVE this blush especially when I’m in the mood for wearing little makeup. It focuses on giving my cheeks a natural flushed look – which I adore!Shop the Shades: Camellia, Sweet Pea
Lip gloss – This lip gloss (you’ve prob seen like in this pic from my IG above) is currently my fave gloss that I own. No joke. It’s not just a regular ole’ lipgloss that fades away after two seconds of applying. This is one of the first matte lip glosses/stains I’ve found that won’t dry out my lips and make them look like a croissant basically. Shop the shade:NUDE Vinyl
Eyeliner – More like life-saver. This eye-liner seriously changed the game for me. The pigment is so rich and one I can count on. (plus the fact that it’s waterproof!) I just not discovered there is a rainbow of other shades available. Definitely need to try! Shop the shade: Stingray Jet Black Liquid Eyeliner –If you’re a liquid eye-liner kind of gal (which I am too) Stila’s liquid eye-liner in a stick makes it really easy to create that perfect line. I will admit the pigment isn’t as rich as the smudge-stick eye-liner but it can be helpful to use to create the cat-eye shape and fill in with with another eye-liner as needed.Shop the Shade:Jet Black
The best advice I can give to those of you who are currently in the thought process of, “Omg it’s time to change my makeup,” visit your local Sephora or makeup store with a clean face and invest an hour or two of your time to sample different makeup products and brands. It’s so important to know your skin type before you go (I wrote about this before..read here)or ask a consultant when you’re there! 😉
Hey friends! Today I’m sharing an exotic eyes tutorial that I created for you on my Youtube channel! Since being here in Kurdistan, I have been so inspired by all of the beautiful things around me – from the nature to the yummy food and pretty women of all shapes and sizes. One thing I’ve noticed is the women out here loveeee their bold eye makeup! I’m not one to rock this look everyday but it’s definitely one that I don’t mind playing with. Some of you may hate me when I say the ‘K’ word, but I feel like the Kardashians really took this Middle Eastern inspired trend and made it globally glamorous. I decided to jump on the trend-wagon and create my version of this hot smokey eye that hopefully you’ll give a try. If any of you ladies are really in the mood to spice things up, you can also try this look with colorful eye-liner shades like green or blue. Totally exotic meets summer. I hope you enjoy the video! Would love if you could subscribe to my Youtube for more upcoming videos! Happy watching!
Ladies, put down your tweezers. Thick brows are in. Some say yay while others say nay but when done right- this is a timeless beauty trend that everyone wants to chase. I had some downtime on Saturday morning and decided to spend some time filming my version of creating natural looking eyebrows that are thick and not harsh to look at (I hope!). Thank you all who have waited so patiently and were sending me tons of requests asking about my eyebrows routine. Here it is! I hope you enjoy and will sound off in the comments letting me know what you think + what type of videos you want to see me do next!
Thanks for watching! Plz support + subscribe to my video channel for more videos coming soon! xo
