Happy New Year! I am currently in the plane headed to Florida to host the Kurdish Youth Festival this weekend. Can’t wait to meet some of you there! I hope you all had a fantastic New Years Eve celebration (I sure did!). I was looking through some of my 2013 selfies and decided to share my favorite lipsticks of 2013 that are definitely sticking around this year.
If you want your lips to look smooth and look “perfect” with your lipstick on, it’s all about the prep! Every night before bed, I always apply a deep moisturizing lip balm sleep with it on. It seriously keeps my lips nice and smooth the next day!
I rocked A LOT of fun lipstick shades last year. For a while, I was really into the vamp look! Let’s take look back and see some of my favorite makeup selfies and lipstick shades that I will definetly rock again in 2014.
Wearing: MAC lipstick in “Morange“
I love this bright orange lipstick from Mac! It’s perfect for the spring and summer seasons ahead. Mac’s lipsticks are rich and pigment (major plus!!) so you won’t need to re-apply over and over again.
Wearing Yves Saint Laurent in “Blood Red“
Meet the perfect red lipstick. YSL beauty is one of my favorite cosmetics line, hands down. I use their highlighter and it’s A-mazing! The lipsticks are highly pigmented and give your lips a radiant, satin finish. AKA it doesn’t get all dry and nappy! I usually apply this lipstick once in the day and then once again at night. That’s all you need- It lasts all day long!
Wearing Too Faced lipstick in “Nude Peach“
A nude lipstick is important to have! This nude shade I’m wearing from Too Faced cosmetics is my everyday go-to when I’m going for a more natural look. Their ‘La Creme’ lipsticks are so perfect because they are very rich in pigment and also a glossy coat to finish off your look. It’s like a lip gloss and lipstick all in one and I love it!
Wearing Wet ‘n Wild in “Black Orchid” (sold out) // (Try MAC “Rebel”)
Dark purple/plum lipstick shades can be very daring! At first I thought there was no way I’d rock a gothic lip. ha! I decided to try it out for fun and I’m so glad I did. The vamp lip was definitely my favorite lipstick trend this past year. I love it so much! I don’t plan on parting ways with this shade any time soon.
Which lipstick shade was your personal favorite?
‘Tis the Season (to Shop)
If you’re someone like me who stresses out a little more than usual during the Christmas season searching everywhere for the perfect gifts for loved ones- this might help you relax a little! I’ve partnered up with Target (my favorite one-stop shop) to bring you my wishlist in style, beauty and home gift ideas. Shopping in-store can be stressful, so why not do it online!? Whether you’re shopping for a best friend, sister, or even your mom- these are some super cute gift options that won’t break the bank (hallelujah!). There’s plenty to go around so I split my wishlist into three collages for you! Enjoy!
Merry Christmas!! (Too early to say?)
-My Outfit Details-
Sweatpants: Urban Outfitters sold out (identical pair from Lovers & Friends, Also love these + these)
Sweatshirt: Lovers and Friends
Bag: Zara (shop similar)
Heels: Zara (similar Steve Maddens)
About the trend: Happy Friday! Today I’m re-inventing the traditional idea of casual sweatpants and sweatshirt style. When you think of sweats you think of the couch, right? Well, we’re taking it to the nightlife scene (in a chic way)! This is a trend I became inspired by during New York Fashion Week- so why not take it from the runway to the REAL-way?! Can I get an amen up in here!? Notice the style is relaxed but the prints are far from it. This is the perfect Friday night look that will not only make you feel comfortable (literally), it will bring you confidence in knowing that you can make a chic statement without trying too hard. Ya feel me!?
About the outfit: I found these amazing faux leather sweatpants at Urban Outfitters last week during their Black Friday sale! I got them for $20! I literally died in the store and came back to life. When shopping for these kind of pants, you can try going a size up for the looser/baggier look. The sweatshirt blouse is from Lovers and Friends- they are seriously one of my favorite brands EVER. They know how to make you look like the life of the chic party. I told myself I wasn’t going to buy anymore black heels, but then I saw these pointed-toe ones at Zara (on Friday Friday as well!!!) and I couldn’t say no to an amazing deal. Just $40 on sale! You can shop all these pieces above under “Outfit Details.”
Have a stylish weekend!

As many of you saw on my Insta this past Tuesday, I did something a little crazy. I dyed my hair! The plan was to visit the hair salon to get rid of all my greys, but it turned into completely changing up my look. Smart choice, I would say. I got a balayage hair treatment at the fabulous Sally Hershberger Salon in LA with a gal who knows a thing or two about hair coloring.
Bianca seriously changed my hair life. Yay I finally have a hair colorist that I can recommend to people who ask! ha! #BiancaColour
Step 1: Correcting the base color to get a nice even canvas for the high lights.
Painted the virgin roots to take care of any unwanted gray and/or to create the color I think fits best for your skin tone. Using ammonia free color by Loreal Professional, Inoa, for a less damaging full permanent coverage.
Step 2: Low lighted while the base color sits on the roots to give some extra dimension.
Step 3: Wash and gloss. Gloss the hair to take out any unwanted tones from previous colors prior to my color.
Step 4: Dry hair, prepping with shu Uemora oil (to hydrate, de frizz and UV protect the hair)
Step 5: Balayage high light the hair for a more natural ribboning effect opposed to stripey foils.
Step 6: Gloss the hair to make sure everything is the proper tone and that the high lights are fluent with the base color.
Step 7: Treatment. Seal in the color and hydrate and repair the hair.
Sazan: Best tip for color treated hair?
Bianca: Use proper shampoo and conditioner. It does make a difference. It is silly to spend so much money on color to not properly maintain it at home on your own. A great shampoo helps as an anti fading agent for your hair and an excellent shampoo will help nourish your hair to keep the color looking shiny and feeling hydrated. I personally love the Loreal professional line- Vitamino Color.
Sazan: The hottest hair color trends right now are?
Bianca: Fantasy colors (blue purple pink, not natural colors etc…) It is fun to bring fantasy culture to reality. Fantasy colors are bigger now than ever making it to high fashion editorials and runway.
Sazan: Should you always go darker for the winter and lighter in the summer?
Bianca: This is not necessarily a proper trending. I believe this is all depending on the person and their skin tone, eye color and personality. I do not think that anyone has to go lighter or darker at any given time of year.
