You guys already know how excited I am to be spending the holidays in LA for the first time. Mainly because of not having to travel throughout the most hectic season – have you seen the airport during Christmas break?! It’s insane! But really, what I’m most excited about is the holiday decor!! With this being my first Christmas at home it was so fun starting fresh and making my holiday decor dreams come to life. So let me take you on a tour of our living room… this area got A LOT of holiday love, and I’m obsessed with how it turned out! #cozyvibes
Stevie and I had a blast picking out our first Christmas tree. We wanted it to be tall but not overwhelm the space and this one just worked out perfectly! For the ornaments, we went with a mainly neutral color palette and then added pops of red throughout. I love the mix of modern and traditional colorways together; it’s a fun twist on an old style!
After the tree, I think the most eye-catching part of the room is our fireplace mantel. I have always dreamed of hanging stockings above a fireplace so we decided to do just that! Guess which is Valentina’s and Sweetie’s 😉 Gotta spoil my girls! To dress up the mantel a little more we added a garland that lights up on the mantelpiece and different sized lanterns to the bottom.
For the rest of the living room, I spread out different little decor throughout the space. I placed a few cozy holiday themed pillows to the couch and of course, added PLENTY of candles almost everywhere lol! I think the simplest DIY for holiday decor is getting a bowl and filling it up with pinecones and a few of your leftover ornaments then placing a candle in the middle!
What do you guys think? I think we did pretty good for our first time decorating for the holidays! I especially love how everything looks at night with all of the little lights and candles lit. Makes me want to lay on the couch with a cozy throw and watch Christmas movies all night! Not only is this our first Christmas in LA, but it’ll also be our first Christmas with our baby girl Valentina. Can’t get any more special than that 🙂
