I have a little confession to make. Stevie and I have been together for YEARS and we have never done a couple’s Halloween costume. How lame is that?! So this year I decided we needed to start the tradition here on my blog. I decided to be Steve’s favorite dessert… a cookie! Of course, I wanted him to the milk!

We wanted to get creative and DIY our costumes, and I’m so glad we did because they turned out so cute!! My cookie costume is from Studio DIY. Kelly is one of my dear friends (and also a DIY queen) who inspired me to embrace my inner cookie. 😉

They have the cutest costume ideas, and the best part is the dresses can also be worn on a normal day (see how I styled mine below!).

I took off the little brown chips from my dress, and look! It turns into a cute tan smock!

Stevie’s costume took a little more time (but he looks so cute right?!). We took a cardboard box, a cardboard presentation board, some white and red paper, and voila! What do you think of our Halloween costume idea?  The funny thing is Steve is lactose intolerant lol!

  1. Seriously love this idea! I’ve been loving all the ideas Studio DIY has been showing off this Halloween season as well. I love the idea of making a costume with regular clothes and some special DIY touches. This year I am being a black cat- I found a black velvet jumpsuit with a lace back, and black lace cat ears! I plan to use some tips from your cat tutorial for my makeup. Thanks for sharing! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

  2. We have already celebrated early, and I dressed as a black cat! I already owned my fuzzy black sweater, cat ears and cat tights, so all it took was some clever makeup work like your tutorial! I laughed when I saw the similarities! I also wrapped my drink in my cat’s treat bag, which was a fun treat that people really got a kick out of. As the crazy cat lady, I lived up to my reputation! Thank you for your giveaways! I love a good DIY project!

  3. Super cute costumes! I too am lactose intolerant, yet I own a cookie business (Look me up! @the_cookie_xing on Instagram). Oh the irony. Anyways, I plan to be a lion this Halloween. I could use some of your mad makeup skillz right about now! G.dvnprt@gmail.com

  4. I love the idea of wearing the dress casually! Although I already celebrated Halloween early this year for my friends party and dressed up as a dead nurse, This year for Halloween I plan to be wonder woman.

  5. It’s been so fun seeing all of Kelly’s costume ideas on her Instagram feed the past few weeks. She’s so creative! I’m hoping to quickly throw together a unicorn outfit today in anticipation for Halloween! I found a $5 unicorn costume for my dog and thought it would be funny to match! Haha! crohde7@mac.com

  6. Well this Halloween I won’t celebrate it because I’m going to my best friends birthday party! Plus I don’t like to dress up as anything scary and Aww that costume was hilarious Sazan, love like always much love. If I win you can contact me at Arano.yesica16@gmail.com

  7. I am going to be a street for Halloween. Gray matte lipstick, a gray dress, plastic cars on my head, and yellow tape down the front of my dress. My favorite part of the costume? Fake tickets that say “you’re fine”! 🙂

    Best email address is whoawhoaworld@gmail.com

  8. I’m going to dress up as Snow White with a costume I bought, in honor of the Portland pale I have going on! Add a little red lipstick and a ribbon in my hair and I’ll be good to go!

  9. I saw your instagram video while I was in the car (at a red light, promise!) and I literally rushed home to come read about it on the blog. I don’t have any halloween plans this year, so I didn’t plan an outfit, but I think you’ve inspired me. I’m going to run out tomorrow and grab some supplies and try to recreate this! You seriously win halloween this year, this is the cutest. My email is emily.khan95@gmail.com 🙂

  10. The video is so cute!!!!

This year I’m dressing up as Princess Leia & my bday will be Chubacca (the whole family is dressing up as a Star Wars character) 😄

  11. Ahhh! You and Stevie are so caaaute!!! SOO, I’m dressing my Great Dane up as a referee and my little yorki mix as a football player and I think I’m going to be a football player as well 🙂

  12. Amazing costumes!!!Well,I would plan to be a witch and btw u are inspiring people….especially 4 me!!!

  13. Hey!
I love the milk and cookies costume. So funny!! I don’t have a party I’m going to for Halloween, so I’m just going to play around with makeup and create a half skull face! I think that makeup costumes are pretty cool too, as long as you wear something neutral on your body. Anyway, can’t wait!

  14. I absolutely loved the milk and cookie costumes! I seriously enjoyed the cute video. This year for Halloween I’m dressing up as Jesse from Toy Story while my boyfriend is dressing up as Woody. The outfits were also DIY costumes, it’s always fun to make your own costume!

  15. I LOVE Halloween! I am a teacher and enjoy DIY crafts! This year for my kiddos Halloween party my teachers and I were unicorns. On Halloween day I will be a pineapple that I crafted myself! I am super excited!! I love you and #studiodiy!
