IT’S ANNIVERSARY WEEK!!! Get ready for #StevieandSazan non-stop blog posts. It’s our one year so we’re celebrating big right now in Catalina Island. Our actual anniversary date isn’t until this coming Sunday May 8th, but I thought why not start the party with our wedding playlist and a cute little giveaway. 😉 As some of you may know, Stevie and I didn’t have bridesmaids or groomsmen since our wedding was so small and intimate, but I still wanted to give a special gift to my closest girls! That’s where Love Ophelia came into play! They have the most beautiful collection of robes. It’s so fun to take a matching group picture of everyone in their robes!

Since we’re on the subject of love, I finally got my hands on the wedding playlist Stevie put together for our wedding. We didn’t have a DJ since the private residence we got hitched at was basically a ‘smart house’ with a legit surround sound system.  I have to say, the hubby did a pretty awesome job creating it. We know what we like (plus it’s free to create your own playlist, you feel me?) so check out our faves during the ceremony portion and cocktail hour below. Feel free to copy and paste some of these into yours! 🙂

  1. My favorite love quote is from a marroon 5 song..”it’s not always rainbows and butterflies it’s compromise that moves us along” and it reminds me that i should step back and think more clearly whenever I am fighting with my boyfriend because being an egoist never helped anyone..
P.S. I love your blog and I really want to meet you!! Will you ever visit Greece??

  2. I remember my wedding day and I still can’t believe that I’m married almost 6 years!! ❤️🙏🏻 After the ceremony in the church my father came up to me and I could see the tears in his eyes and told me this,
“I have never seen you look at beautiful as you do in a wedding dress. There is something angelic about my sweet little daughter all grown up.You’ve got touches of your mother in your, but always have had my smile. Best of luck on the future of adventures and memories with your new husband”.
It was so special to me because now I’m very far from him he lives in my country Armenia and I’m in New Jersey.

  4. This quote is from my favorite movie. The Notebook 🙂
“So it’s not gonna be easy. It’s going to be really hard; we’re gonna have to work at this everyday, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, everyday. You and me… everyday.” Nicholas Sparks, The Notebook

  5. I got married almost one year ago as well! May 17, 2015! It’s been such an amazing year. One thing I’ve learned is that marriage is all about self-denial. Denying myself is one thing I’ve truly had to grow in this year because being married is a truly selfless act. You’re sharing your life with someone and it’s so important to make sure their needs are met! It’s been an amazing year of growth and so much fun! I can tell it has been for you too! Cheers to May brides!
    xo,
    Kathleen

  6. Sazan, you’re such an inspiration to me and I appreciate you always being so honest with all your posts. You looked absolutely gorgeous on your wedding day and I wish you both all the health and happiness in the world. My husband and I are coming up on our two year wedding anniversary and if I could give you one piece of advice it would be to travel, travel, travel! I find not only does traveling bring us closer together but it also helps us grow as a couple! Thank you so much for having a giveaway the robe is beautiful! 😍

  7. My wedding day is fastly approaching (July 2!), and I’m in the thick of trying to come up with getting ready attire. This robe is gorgeous and I just know it will make me feel special on such a special day. My favorite quote that makes me think about my future hubby, and gives me goosebumps when I hear it:

    And I’d choose you;
    In a hundred lifetimes,
    In a hundred worlds,
    In any version of reality,
    I’d find you,
    And I’d choose you.
    — The Chaos of Stars

I’m so excited for my big day and so excited to marry this man of mine! And I’m pretty excited about this robe too, so I hope I win! 🙂 Thanks! (lindsey.toth@gmail.com)

  8. We are all a little weird and life’s a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.
    – Dr. Seuss

My fiance and I are set to be married next spring and cannot wait to share the day with our friends and family. We have only been together two and a half years but have been through more than a lot of couples experience in a lifetime. We have both lost a parent (and a grandparent) in the last year due to cancer and other grave illnesses. It is because of this that we have learned that time is fleeting and to enjoy every day to its fullest. We have a big love for each other and life that we try to share with those around us as much as we can. Love is an adventure so why not make it the best one ever?!

  9. I’m getting married in San Juan on August 11th. Since my engagement two years ago, I never bought a single wedding magazine. I came across your YouTube channel and after seeing your wedding pictures and reading your process I felt like I didnt need much wedding research. I bought a wedding dress on sale, my wedding is going to be small, 40ppl, ( I know you did too), but I do have 2 bridesmaids. You never said these exact words, but I have learned and especially after reading your “ten things you didn’t know about my wedding” that the real focus is the marriage. The wedding is just an event that will be over quickly, but what remains is the everlasting covenant!

  10. I work for a photographer because I love weddings SO much! There’s something so beautiful about love and how it represents God’s love for us. Happy anniversary to you and Stevie, and enjoy your time at Catalina Island!!!

  11. Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.
    Rumi
    XOXO LOVE YOU SAZAN 💗

  12. My boyfriend and I love watching you and Stevie on Instagram and youtube! We admire your relationship. It seems as though you two are truly best friends! Matt (my bf) is always asking me “are there any new videos of Stevie and sazan?!” We are looking forward to marriage one day and can only hope to have a marriage as fun as you two have!

  13. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Ive been with my husband for almost 14 years and married 6. We are high school sweethearts and we’ve gone through hard times that almost broke us apart but we seeked God and he has brought us closer together and that verse above is what helped me during tough times 😘

  14. Hi Sazan! I’ve been following your love story with Stevie for a little while now and y’all are too cute!! So inspirational 🙂 and I love how funny y’all are together.

I recently got engaged last December in NYC. My now fiancé surprised us with a trip to New York for New Year’s Eve and he proposed to me in Central Park! We walked around the park after and came back later that night for New Years fireworks (or fireworks just for us :P) – it was an amazing day.

My favorite love quote is by Patrick Rothfuss: “Anyone can love a thing ‘because’. That’s as easy as putting a penny in your pocket. But to love someone despite. To know the flaws and love them too. That is rare and pure and perfect.”

I love this quote because it just touches my heart and is so true!! Every couple has things that put obstacles in their way, but they work it out and still love each other!!

  15. Hello! My favorite wedding quote is my bible verse for the ceremony. I’m getting married in ONE MONTH from today! Our verse says this
“Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”
    Romans 12: 9-10
I love your blog posts by the way! You’re incredible 🙂

  16. My grandfather and grandmother were married for over 50 years and the one piece of advice he always gave us was to respect your spouse and treat them as your equal! Although my grandmother passed away thirty years ago, my grandfather still always talked about her as if she was still alive and always emphasized the importance of making sure your spouse knows how much you love them by focusing on the little things that make your significant other happy and always emphasized how having a close relationship with your faith and God can not only improve your own life but also help you in your marriage.

  17. Sazan!! I just love you definitely think we could be best friends!! Lol Wishing you a very happy one anniversary! I’ve been following you for some time now and love seeing your posts and snapchats You are very blessed to have found a love like yours.Where your lover is your best friend And I hope to find one like it!

  18. As a fellow newlywed (6 months of marriage!!) I am happy to say that every single day keeps getting better than the last with my loving hubby. Being centered in Christ and constantly choosing to put each other first, we continue to strengthen not only our marriage, but our friendship.

  19. I think that the most beautiful thing in love is the little things of the every day life. Maybe it’s a friday night and you’ve just come out from work, your tired and maybe your makeup isn’t on point and he comes to have dinner and he sees you in your lowest energy, and he just hugs you and tells you you look beautiful. Maybe it’s just the fact of seeing him down stairs and he climbs up the stairs really fast to hug you even faster, or maybe just the good night kisses that you would never want them to end..i really don’t believe in the fact that how bigger the present for your birthday is, or the bigger the number of times he says he loves you in a day, means the mesure of your love. The mesure of love is noticed in the most little things. Those little thins are te ones that make your heart sing❤
The text is based on the little things that make my heart jump when i’m with him❤
I’m from spain and you are such an inspiration such as a beautiful person, it’s like i’ve had you as a friend all my life!!! Love you so much and i wish you the best☺🙌

  20. I am not married yet, but my boyfriend and I will be celebrating our 2 year anniversary on May 23. The best piece of advice I can give to anyone in a relationship is to make sure your special someone is your very best friend, and can make you laugh uncontrollably! You want the love of your life to be the person you can turn to for anything, and also the person who can make you belly laugh on any given day. I’m so inspired by your marriage, Sazan, and hope to have a marriage that is as positive, fun and completely adorable as yours someday. Thanks for sharing this post. 🙂

  21. I love this post! My husband and I have been married 1.5 years now and I’m still obsessed with looking at my wedding photos and watching our wedding video!
“I have looked at you in millions of ways and I have loved you in each” is my absolutely favorite love quote. There’s so much you go through in marriage and loving each other through it all is what makes a marriage stronger. After going through fertility treatments and currently undergoing IVF right now, my husband and I feel like we have already been through it all in the short time we have been married. I couldn’t imagine doing any of this without him by my side though. He is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I am my best self with him 😊

  22. Though this isn’t exactly a love quote, in a way it kind of is. I’m currently in a “time of wait” – waiting on God to make the circumstances right and in His time. And this verse has been my everything “Because she loves me says the Lord, I will rescue her; I will protect her; for she acknowledges my Name.” Psalm 91:14.

Happy anniversary to you and Stevie! XO

  23. Hi Sazan!!! I just wanna say that you’re such an inspiration, and so down to earth! I met you at sxsw and you were so nice and honestly sometimes the people we follow ok the Internet may not be the same way in real life but you and Stevie were just so wonderful and I wanna say thank you for being real. Also I always see the haters saying crazy things, but they’re just jealous and I hope that doesn’t get to your head because for every hater there’s like 1000 people who love you. You’re beautiful, and you and Stevie are such goals, I wish you guys a lifetime of happiness 🙂 I hope I can get lucky one day like that, hope you’re enjoying your one year anniversary xoxo

  24. I recently got out of an almost five year relationship with my college boyfriend. It was probably the hardest decision I’ve had to make in a long time, but I knew that it was for the best; for both of us. Life took us down two separate paths and I knew God was telling me it was time to let go. That same day, I came across a quote that I look at every day to help me keep my hope in the fact that my soulmate is out there looking for me too! I’m in love with love and I can’t wait to be able to share that with a special someone. So here’s the quote: “Eventually soulmates meet for they have the same hiding place”. My faith in God is stronger than ever these days and I know one day my soulmate will find me!

  25. “Let someone love you just the way you are – as flawed as you might be, as unattractive as you sometimes feel, and as unaccomplished as you think you are. To believe that you must hide all the parts of you that are broken, out of fear that someone else is incapable of loving what is less than perfect, is to believe that sunlight is incapable of entering a broken window and illuminating a dark room.”- Marc Hack

  26. LOVE! Love is what makes the world go round. Love with your Husband is devoting your time to him. Love is making his favorite meal, Love is doing that chore you don’t want to do but it makes him happy. Love is smiling at him when he looks your way and you see that twinkle in his eye. Love is forgiveness. Love is understanding. Love is encouragement. Love is beautiful for it is what the Lord wants us to have. I have never felt true Love until i met my husband. Our 1 year is in September. Cant wait to celebrate. I am excited for this journey of Marriage full of Love!

  27. I love the feeling of being love! Every day i wish my father would have met my boyfriend, he is no longer in this world but just the feeling of walking in the isle without him makes me sad!

  28. “The best love is the kind that awakens the soul; that makes us reach for more, that plants the fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds”.

    Happy first anniversary❤️

  29. I got married at age 19, a late freshman in college, and now I’m 23 (he’s 29). We moved to the States together for me to pursue a better education and him a better music career. It has not been easy! We just went through what seems the worst year of our lives together and even seperated for a little bit. However, I anchored in God’s promises and reminded him “You said You will never let us fall, and if we fell, You would pick us up and make us whole again.” God has shown his face and mercies throughout our relationship over and over again while we go through hard times and grow together (and I- grow up). My favorite and most simple quote is…”God’s got us!!!” Today, I can’t get enough of him…I truly married the man I am supposed to be with. And he’s pretty dang sexy too!! Hihi
Can’t wait to see your tell-all video on Thursday! Tnx Sazan. Xo

  30. Happy anniversary, Sazan and Stevie! Greetings all the way from Russia! I wish I could give some helpful marriage advice but I’m not married yet. But I can share some of my favorite love quotes from my favorite books. 🙂
“Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same”. (Wuthering heights by Bronte)
“Every atom of your flesh is dear to me as my own: in pain and sickness it would still be dear. (Jane Eyre)
“God help the man who ever really loves you” (Gone with the wind)
For my wedding playlist I’d pick Sade “By your side” or something by Sixpence None the Richer. I really like 80’s and 90’s music. Blessings~

  31. Thanks so much for sharing your wedding playlist! I am getting married this year on Sept 2nd! It’s such a fun and excited season that I’m in, and I’m all about all things wedding! I love learning what others did at their wedding. I am currently going down the list of songs. I love the feel of all of them. You have such a fun style. I’m looking forward for all of your wedding posts! Happy Anniversary! 💗

  32. Hi Sazan,
Happy Anniversary to you and Stevie! Marriage is so amazing ! I have been with my love since 2003, and we married in 2011! We couldn’t be happier and he is truly my best friend! I absolutely love your wedding story! I am in an interracial marriage as well, I am Italian and Polish and my hubby is Jamaican. At the beginning of our relationship and for even a few years after we weren’t always accepted by some of our family. Now I am happy to say that we are and everyone loves us together!!

One of my all time fav quotes that was also a part of our vows: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

In closing, marriage is always 100/100% never 50/50% and we never let a sun set on an argument! Love you and keep shining bright!! You are a true inspiration girl!! Xoxo 💋 Jen

  33. One of my favourite love quote is: The best feeling in the world is being loved back by the person you love.
P.S. When you post some picture or video i am always melting, because you and Stevie are soo sweeet! You are my favourite couple! 🙈☺️💋

  34. Where to start with that question as a million songs come to mind. One of the songs that does stand out and it’s to the point is “Kiss of life” from Sade! If you hear the lyrics, yes an angel was by my side when he led the most wonderful, generous, sincere and most loving, patient husband to me. But I’m sure your are saying the same about Stevie when you read this, right Sazan😉!
    Many blessings,
    Norma ☀️

  35. My boyfriend wrote a song and the chorus starts out with “you made me love you like the summer & spring”. I love this quote because it sums up love perfectly. Love should be exciting and beautiful just like summer & spring. I fell in love with him in the summer and look forward to many many more summers together. 💕

  36. “I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.”
Ps. I’m so excited for this, i’m getting married this October! Thank you for sharing!
    Ps2. I love your blog!

  37. Cheers 🍾 To you and Stevie! May the adventure continue and you post about it 🎉💖 Congrats❣

  38. If you love something, love it completely, cherish it, say it, but most importantly show it. Life is finite and fragile, and just because something is there one day, it might not be the next. Never take that for granted.
Say what you need to say, then say a little more.
Say too much. Show too much. LOVE TOO MUCH.
Everything is temporary but love. Love outlives all.

I’m getting married this year August 27, 2016 to my best friend. <3

  39. Hi Sazan!! I am also a fairly new married mother of 1 and when I came across this I loved it. It’s so real, raw, and beautiful at the same time without the typical fairytale illusion people have of marriage. It’s lengthy (sorry!) but I him you will enjoy it as well 🙂

“Marriage is ugly, you see the absolute worst in someone. You see them when they’re mad, sad, being stubborn, when they’re so unlovable they make you scream. But you also get to see them when they are laughing so hard that tears run down their face, and they can’t help but let out those weird gurgling noises. You see them at 3am when the world is asleep except you two, and you’re eating in the middle of the kitchen floor. You get to see the side of them that no one else does, and it’s not always pretty. Its snorting while laughing, its the tears when it feels like its all crashing down, its the farting, its the bedhead and bad breath, its the random dances, its the anger and the joy. Marriage isn’t a beautiful thing, but it is amazing. It’s knowing that someone loves you so much, and won’t leave you even though you said something nasty. It’s having someone have your back no matter what. Its fights over stupid things, like someone not doing the dishes or picking up after themselves. And it’s those nights you fall asleep in each others arms, feeling like there will never be enough time with them. It’s cleaning up their throw up, or just rubbing their back when they’re sick. It’s the dirtiest, hardest, most rewarding job there is. Because at the end of the day you get to crawl into bed with your best friend, the weirdest, most annoying, loving, goofy, perfect person that you know. Marriage is not beautiful, but it’s one heaven of a ride”

  40. Married for 3 years yesterday! May 3rd! definitely love being married and its always a learning experience. funny story on my husbands Facebook I see a picture of Stevie and Im like “oh you follow Stevie Hendricks on Facebook nice I follow his wife she does make up videos , and hes like no I went to school ( or played soccer cant remember) with Steve Hendricks they must be friends… I almost like dropped! I told him its the same person Hun! you went to school with someone famous 🙂
happy anniversary! Cheers for many more!

  41. Here’s a simple little quote I used with a picture from our wedding day, which I sent my husband on our 4th wedding anniversary, “Because of you, I laugh a little harder, cry a little less, and smile a lot more.” Our love is this and so much more, but it’s the simple things that makes it all more meaningful.

  42. I have Found the One whom my soul loves. Song of Solomon 3:4

I’m so excited about this giveaway, I’m getting married in August! Thanks for sharing! Love all your posts and style!!!

    XOXO
    Yadi

  43. I really love the way you and Stevie carry your mariage and relationship.
For me your an example of an awesome, kidness and lovely wife. N Stevie the perfect protector, sweet and funny husband for you. I really hope that God bless aaaall your life together and be always the center in your life.
    Enjoy your anniversary week !!
My favorite quote or description of love is this portion of the Bible
” Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” 1 corinthians 13:4-7

  44. “I love you more than yesterday, less than tomorrow.” On our wedding day, our band cancelled the last minute, our photographer got lost and showed up super late, our event coordinator did a very poor job with the decor and wasn’t even there when we showed up to the venue! our priest decided he wasn’t sure if he wanted to marry us (wait, WHAT?!), my maid of honor got super sick. My best friend, my husband, my heart, fixed everything and managed to make me laugh about all of it instead of freaking out! I am so excited about life knowing that I’ll be spending it with him.

I hope everyone has the chance to feel pure love, the world would be a better place!

  45. Hi beautiful! I think my favorite quote of all times is “Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that” -MLK. It just inspires me and reminds me to be the better version of me, even when people or just life situations, are not the best; to always love like Jesus did, even the ones who hated them, that is just powerful! So I’m getting married this December 23rd with the love of my life. We’re traveling to our home-country Puerto Rico, where all our family and friends live, and we’re going to have something intimate and special. I shared my engagement story on my blog in English and Spanish as well, it would be so awesome if you could pass by and read it <3
    Love you Sazan!

  46. A lot of people tell you marriage is hard. A lot of people give you advice and warn you about the adversity and trials you will encounter. What nobody tells you is how FREAKING AWESOME marriage is. That was my biggest takeaway after 1 year of marriage. It’s the most FUN, incredible, rewarding and joyous relationship I have ever been a part of. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

  47. This past year has been a very tumultuous time in my life. I ended a very serious long-term relationship with the man who I was planning to spend the rest of my life with. Unfortunately, things took a turn and after so much emotional abuse that left me feeling very unloved and unappreciated, I was finally able to break free of that negative relationship. It has been a process for me to build up that emotional stability that I lost during that time, which was already pretty low since I’m a child of divorce, and to feel that I am lovable despite my flaws, but I am making progress. I’m loving myself and finding the goodness in God’s graces again. I’ve taken that lesson and turned it into a blessing and I am looking forward to finding my very own “Steve”! I’ve been following you since right before your wedding last year and y’all are just the cutest 🙂

I’m a very big fan of Rumi’s poetry and he wrote: “love is the whole thing. We are only the pieces” which just serves a constant reminder that there is a bigger picture and God has it all planned.

Happy anniversary to you and your love! Your relationship is an inspiration 🙂

  48. My boyfriend and i have a rule, we never go to bed angry. If we have a problem we like to talk about it so we can move on. We have been together for 7 years and i still get butterflies in my stomach when i see him!
” I love you, for all that you are, all that you have been, and all you’re yet to be.”

I also want to share one of my favorite poems:

    I carry your heart
I carry your heart with me
I carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart)
I am never without it (anywhere i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling)
I fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet)
I want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart
I carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

    E.E. Cummings

I hope you have a wonderful week filled with love!

  49. SO sweet. My first dance with my husband was actually Hold You In My Arms by Ray LaMontagne.

“When you came to me with your bad dreams and your fears
It was easy to see that you’d been crying
Seems like everywhere you turn catastrophe it reigns
But who really profits from the dying”

Love this part. I mentioned in another comment a while back that my dad didn’t come to my wedding -our decision not his. And this song just summed up for me the comfort I found in my new husband and our new life together and signified a change from the fear and catastrophe I experienced growing up.

  50. My favorite love quote is: Love is when the other person’s happiness is more important than your own.

I think it says it all

  51. My FAVORITE love quote is “I can’t promise to fix all of your problems, but I can promise you that you won’t face them all alone.” I love that quote because it speaks the truth, when you marry someone or when you’re in a relationship you should know that there will always be problems no matter what because a relationships isn’t just rainbows and roses it also has difficult parts, but as a couple you should deal with those problems together and be there for each other and not let one or the other face the problem all alone. The couple should learn how to face problems together instead of runaway from them and that is something that will strengthen the relationship even more because both persons will know that they have someone to count on.

  52. Hello Saz,

One of the worst feelings in the world, I think, is being in love but not being loved back.
Some time ago, I fell in love with someone. I really thought that he would be the one for me.
And just when I was ready admitting to him how I felt, I found that he had a girlfriend.
    I was simply too late.
I was very sad and thought I would never meet somebody else to love.
As I am a writer, I chose to write a poem about my feelings.

    If Only

If I had met you in my dreams before
Would I be rescued or still undefined?

If I had told you what I feel in time
Would you still be blind to what is right?

If I had been there some moments before
You would not sit there on the wrong shore

If I had listened to my inner voice
I would not note down these words and shed tears

    I’m craving you
Or is it just the idea of you?
Do I even know who you are?
Or is my mind just playing?

I know its not the best poem in the world but it helped me process my feelings.
I came to realize that if it had been Gods will it would have happened. God always has the best plan for us and I just have to be patient and wait for him to send me my king 🙂
But before I can let somebody love me I have to love myself first. With all my flaws and insecurities.
And just when I am able to love myself, people will be able to love me.

I love your blog Saz gyan, keep it up 🙂
Wish you the best of luck with the rest of your life <3

  53. Hi Sazan! I never really participate in these giveaway’s but felt the need to at least tell you how much your blog has helped me. I grew up in a very strict Armenian house and started dating a guy who is 4th generation Armenian but technically only 1/4 (He’s got alot of other attractive cultures my favorite is the fact he’s also Italian *hubba*). My parents were uneasy but for the most part okay until I moved in with him when I got a job in LA. Making the long story super short, my dad didn’t really talk to me for about 9 months and it was pretty difficult but you definitely have to do what’s right for you, the relationship and your life together. We started to talk again and have finally built the relationship back to what it was before :). I follow your blog consistently because of your inspiring story and how relatable you are as a person. After you posted you’re wedding story I just felt like I was reading a small part of my life. I love you’re style and love that you’re very open and honest. Thanks so much and keep doing what you’re doing girl!
Quote: “A woman knows the face of the man she loves as a sailor knows the open sea” Honore De Balzac

  54. My favorite excerpt from my favorite poet, Pablo Nuerba:
Te amo sin saber como, ni cuándo, ni de donde,
te amo directamente sin problemas ni orgullo:
así te amo porque no sé amar de otra manera,
sino así de este modo en que no soy ni eres,
tan cerca que tu mano sobre mi pecho es mía,
tan cerca que se cierran tus ojos con mi sueño.

“I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where
I love you directly without problems or pride:
I love you like this because I don’t know any other way to love,
except in this form in which I am not nor are you,
so close that your hand upon my chest is mine,
so close that your eyes close with my dreams.”

I love this because it’s the simplest way to love that can mean so much. The words are so beautiful and real! ellenduran2@gmail.com

  55. Favorite love quote, “the reason it hurts so much to separate, is because our souls are connected” When my husband and I lost our baby, that’s the quote I decided I’m getting tattoo’d for both of them. Your husband and yourself give me SO many laughs! Love you guys together! 🙂

  56. My favorite romantic movie is the Notebook so I decided to share with you a love quote from this movie that I thought was really adorable “Your are a song a dream,a whisper and I don’t know how I could have lived without you for as long as I have”- the Notebook. My sister is getting married soon and she has been busy planning for her wedding and she really doesn’t have time to get cute things like this robe and I really want to surprise her at her bridal shower with these robs. I showed her pictures of your wedding and she loved them. She thought that your makeup and dress and the view was just breathe taking! Thank you, for sharing them and sharing all your outfits I appreciate it, love you! 💗

  58. Hi Sazan!

First, I want to say, congratulations on your one year anniversary!! You and Stevie are captivating, authentic, and entertaining. I can’t wait for the day ya’ll have a baby together and you blog about motherhood, which you kind of have because of Sweetie.

Well, my husband (I love saying that!) and I recently got married on April 16, 2016! We’ve been together for almost 7 years and 6 months. My favorite love scripture of all times is from 1 Corinthians 13:1-13. An interesting fact about me is I was adopted from China and I was brought into a Caucasian family. My father was a Presbyterian minister, so I grew up as a PK (Preacher’s kid) all my life and my belief in God has never left my side, even though I’ve doubted myself numerous times. He’s always sustained me through my trials and tribulations. My husband is black and my parents taught me it doesn’t matter what skin color, gender, or religion someone is. Love is love. I value this quote because it’s important we learn to love someone unconditionally. We should accept the imperfections! I think you and Stevie are wonderful together! Stay true to yourself and continue to laugh, travel, and enjoy the little things.

  59. My husband and I created a playlist for our wedding back in September as well! It was a great way for us to add more personal touch to the big day, plus my husband is an artist so it fit! It was a hit, our guests kept complimenting us on our music choices and many even asked for a copy of the playlist after the wedding, to us that was a huge compliment because music is such a huge part of our lives!

I don’t really have a favorite quote about love but one of our songs for the wedding was “Need Your Love” by Sol, it’s a beautiful song that always reminds me of my husband and I. Check it out sometime, I think you and Stevie would like it!

Thanks for sharing your playlist, new music to check out, yay!

  60. Happy Anniversary to you both! 🙂 your playlist is just the sweetest!
    My favorite love verse is..
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Some advice that my parents have always told me is to always keep God in the center of your marriage and to never go asleep mad at each other. They have been married for 38 years and going strong! Wish you all the best and may God continue to bless yall’s marriage 🙂

Sazan, happy 1st anniversary to you and Stevie. I love your posts, they are very beautiful and you inspire me every day. I also love your wedding playlist and I’m glad your parents finally welcomed Steve into your family. Patience is truly a virtue. Sometimes all people need is a little bit of time to accept some things and open up. I am glad you did everything your way no matter what. It’s very brave and inspiring.

My favorite love quote shows that love isn’t always defined by all the positive things but rather how you and your soul mate overcome the obstacles together. That’s what keeps your love strong. So, here it is:

“I chose you, not because I think it will always be easy, but because with you I know that even on the dreadful, wretched, luckless days, when the troubles of the world are downpours of thick, clamouring, beating rain – you will laugh, take my hand, and whisper delightfully, Dance with me.” – Beau Taplin || T h e D a n c e

To all Sazan readers I hope you dance and laugh through the troubles that downpours on you and find the perfect adjustment of the sail.

Lots of love from your European sazzcriber
    Natasha

PS. If I win the robe, could I pick a size bigger so that I can give it to my mum, who just like you Sazan did it her way with my dad.

  62. Wow, I stumbled onto this blog post by total accident and I’m so glad I did! It’s great that you’re having a giveaway that has prompted me to subscribe to your newsletter; I love your fashion and beauty sections and you seem like a lovely, genuine, and well-spoken person.

I’m not one for choosing favorites, but since my boyfriend and I got engaged a month ago I’ve been thinking a lot about the difference between being in love and being in the sacred communion and commitment that is marriage. Like I said to my boyfriend once, I wish we had more words for love in the english language, like the Inuit do for different types of snow. I experience so many different types of love for him, and really just in general. There is a Joseph Campbell quote that stands out to me, however,
“Marriage is not a simple love affair, it’s an ordeal, and the ordeal is the sacrifice of ego to a relationship in which two have become one.”
I love this because it conveys the weight of the marriage agreement, something I think is overlooked these days in lieu of gorgeous flowers and ethereal dresses. Don’t get me wrong, now that I’m planning a wedding I’m totally obsessed with those things as well, but I want to make sure to keep in sight that a wedding is to celebrate and honor the union we’ve chosen to forge with one another.

Phew, that got kind of heavy! Anyway, I love that your recessional was Natalie Cole’s “Everlasting Love.” That is so great, I just may have to run that by my fiance.

Sazan, you are so beautiful, and as I can glean from these other comments it seems your readers genuinely appreciate and value you. It was nice to get such an unexpected dose of warm internet love, and robe or no robe I’m glad to have encountered this post and look very much forward to receiving your newsletters.

(…but just in case my email is neilandamandawedding@gmail.com)

Hope you’re all having a lovely day! <3

  64. My favorite love quote is actually a bible verse, and it is… “So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined, let no one seperate.”
First of all, congrats to y’all both on this amazing thing that marriage is! 🙂 I’ve gotta say, I’m so obsazzzed with everything you post and are. You seem like such a geuine soul and there’s not much of that these days! – So you’ve gotta love it when you find it! (especially on social media lol)
Second, My hubs and I are actually coming up on our 2nd year of marriage (Aug 23rd!- Eek!) and we’re taking our first out of country trip together for it! Heading to Cancun, Mexico! This robe would be such an amazing add-on in my luggage. Especially for such a romantic getaway 😉

  65. sazannn♡ girl, let me start off by saying i have a major girl crush on you! like major! #sazancrush but for real, i was drawn to your beautiful style, your free spirit & amazing traveling lifestyle at first. but your kind heart, your bold love for your hubs & your courageous soul to be yourself & love who you are is what i really love about you, & what i truly think makes you stand out from other fashion/travel bloggers!:] one of the things i have learned about living life with my hubby side by side (coming up in 2 years in august), + one 2 year old beauty in tow & one babe on the way (gender ultrasound tomorrow- yeahhhhh- so can’t wait!) is that hiding the ugly parts of myself both physical & inside too is soooo detrimental to our marriage. when i choose to show my hubby my everything- he shows me he chooses to love me through it all. through the big things like pregnancy sickness, labor, death in the family, etc to the little things like my real #iwokeuplikethis face & hair to the times i am angry/bitter/ugly inside my husband chooses to fight through that with me & embrace me making me feel even more beautiful than ever! i have a pinterest board of love quotes & love songs are my jam, but i think that’s what real life truly is about. thanks for this awesome giveaway, i would love to win & use my robe in my newborn photos once baby #2 is born in september! & wear the robe to just feel beautiful in! ;] thanks for being a real blogger & inspiring so many women about authentic beauty inside & out. many blessings & love to you & stevie as you celebrate your anniversary! xxx, ♡rosa (your wannabe twin)

  66. Hello!

My favourite love quote is “Zagrli me oko vrata oluja se diže, ne može nam nitko ništa ako priđeš bliže”. This is Croatian, and from a love song “Zagrli me” by Zdravko Čolić. You can hear it on you tube if you want. 🙂
Now… I am getting married this year in November after almost 2 years of relationship. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with him.
Also, my birthday is next week (12th of May ) so this would be a nice gift. 🙂

  67. Congrats on your one-year anniversary! We will be celebrating our 21st this August. Treasure every year you have together.
I need this robe because I have been working this week at our cabin staining all of the woodwork – doors, windows, trim. This is the start of a long process and I need to feel pretty again!

  68. Such a fun post and a great giveaway! My favorite quote of all time is from Mother Theresa. Me and my fiancé both work as medical providers and this sums up how we choose to live our lives and how we treat one another and those around us!

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.
What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.
Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.
In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.

    Thank you!
    Jantsen

  69. My favorite love quote comes from C.S. Lewis, which (it’s long) emphasizes that love is more than just that feeling of butterflies and sunshine. “Being in love is a good thing, but it is not the best thing. There are many things below it, but there are also things above it. You cannot make it the basis of a whole life. It is a noble feeling, but it is still a feeling. Now no feeling can be relied on to last in its full intensity, or even to last at all. Knowledge can last, principles can last, habits can last but feelings come and go. And in fact, whatever people say, the state called ‘being in love’ usually does not last. If the old fairy-tale ending ‘They lived happily ever after’ is taken to mean ‘They felt for the next fifty years exactly as they felt the day before they were married,’ then it says what probably never was nor ever would be true, and would be highly undesirable if it were. Who could bear to live in that excitement for even five years? What would become of your work, your appetite, your sleep, your friendships? But, of course, ceasing to be ‘in love’ need not mean ceasing to love. Love in this second sense — love as distinct from ‘being in love’ — is not merely a feeling. It is a deep unity, maintained by the will and deliberately strengthened by habit; reinforced by (in Christian marriages) the grace which both partners ask, and receive, from God. They can have this love for each other even at those moments when they do not like each other; as you love yourself even when you do not like yourself. They can retain this love even when each would easily, if they allowed themselves, be ‘in love’ with someone else. ‘Being in love’ first moved them to promise fidelity: this quieter love enables them to keep the promise. it is on this love that the engine of marriage is run: being in love was the explosion that started it.” This is a great piece of advice, because there will be times when love goes beyond the feeling. Love is a deliberate action to love that person unconditionally even when times are rough. There are times when we don’t feel like loving that person, but it is through the example of selflessness that we see from Jesus Christ, that we are able to love that person fully and sincerely. Feelings begin that process of “being in love”, but later, we must CHOOSE to love our significant other no matter how we feel at that moment. 🙂 It’s not a typical lovey-dovey love quote, but it’s one that truly showcases what love is <3 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 is also my fave!! Love you Sazan! You and Stevie's relationship truly demonstrates how God intended a loving, committed relationship to be. God truly shines through you both <3 EMail: mariaholvera113@gmail.com

  70. Happy early anniversary! 1 year down! Best piece of advice:::: Fight Naked 😉 haha. Just remembering to laugh! Congrats you two!

  71. I saw this at one of the weddings I attended few years ago and thought it was really sweet!
    Recipe for a Happy Marriage:
“Combine two caring hearts – Melt into one
    Add a lot of love
Mix well with respect, and trust
Add gentleness, laughter, faith, hope, and joy.
Pour in much understanding (Don’t forget patience)
Sprinkle with kisses and, a dash of hugs
    Bake for a life time
    Yield: One Happy Couple”

  72. Congrats on your first year. I always felt like the first year was the hardest and what I learned was that communication is key. Talk about dreams, plans, adventures, arguments, feelings, everything. The more you are on the same page and know where the other one is coming from the better.

  73. Sazaaaaannnnn!!!!!
My fiancé and I are getting married in one month from tomorrow!! I’m SOOO excited! It’s been a long road, I’m from France and he’s from CT, it’s been challenging on many levels but as the Bible says “[Love] bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” (1 Corinthians 13:7). We made it, and we are finally reunited forever. Nothing feels better than being with the one you love and marriage is definitely a gift from God!
Thanks for being one of the most bubbly, genuine and beautiful bloggers! Xoxo

  74. ‘And then he asked me: loving someone must be a great thing, isn’t it? No. Being in love is simply one of the most wonderful, selfless acts a human being can have with another human being. It’s the beginning of something beautiful full of memories tightly woven and bond between two friendships, lovers, soulmates that the universe conspired to bring together. That is what being in love means. It is not just a great thing, but the best thing that’s ever happened to me. It has given me life. A sense of reason. A sense to belong to a world so cold and distraught that when you look into that persons eyes…nothing else matters anymore. That is what love means. And when you find this “love” I speak about, you will know. Not because I told you…but because you will feel it. In your heart.’-Me.

  75. Laugh often, pray together & always kiss each other good night! I love this post! I’m hopefully going to plan my destination wedding next year!!

  76. “‘Cause all of me
    Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
    All your perfect imperfections
    Give your all to me
I’ll give my all to you
You’re my end and my beginning
Even when I lose I’m winning
‘Cause I give you all of me
And you give me all of you”

I used John Legend’s lyrics as my favorite quote because this is exactly the description with my 5-year relationship. My boyfriend has been my rock, through life’s struggles and through my process to become a doctor. Long distance relationship is hard, and even harder when its been this long, but the love we share surpass every obstacle we have overcame. He makes me the happiest woman alive by making my every wish come true. I cannot express in words how much this man has truly changed my life, showed me love, and loved me endlessly. We have had tough times, but the resilience of our love has made me believe that he is more than my best friend.

Fun fact- We recently got a little brindle Frenchie and adore every bit of him!

My advise- true love is hard to find, but when you are effortlessly happy, laugh until you pee in your pants, and want to fall asleep & wake up next to that one person, IT’S LOVE.

  77. Hi Saz! Just found your blog/iG/channel and I am absolutely in love! One of my all time favorite love quotes is from EE Cummings:
“i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart) i am never without it (anywhere i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling) i fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true) and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)”

It tugs at my heart strings and I read it to my boyfriend of 2 years all the time.

  78. Hi Sazan!
First off just wanted to wish you and Stevie a very Happy One Year Anniversary!!
I’m a romantic at heart, so I have tons of favorite love quotes so it wouldn’t be fair for me to just pick one. However, I do have a favorite love song: “L-O-V-E” the version sung by Nat King Cole.

“L is for the way you look at me
O is for the only I see
    V is very very extraordinary
E is even more than anyone that you adore and love is all that I can give to you. Love is more than just a game for two. Two in love can make it take my heart and please don’t break love was made for me and you.”

My sister and I are super close and we always sing this to each other, if one of us is having a bad day. It always puts a goofy grin on our faces.

Also, just as an aside thank you so much for making curly hair video tutorials on youtube. I seriously get super excited every time you upload one. I have naturally curly hair and I have always struggled to keep the frizz on the down low. Thanks to your videos it has taught me different methods and products to use to keep my curls bouncy and super soft. I used to always see my curly hair as a curse, thanks to you I have begun to see it as a blessing.😘

We’re trying to figure out way to have a cute little wedding with my family on Ecuador, kinda like yours something just very intimate. I love your wedding playlist, and I can’t wait to keep reading about your wedding in future post. I hope you guys have a wonderful time in your mini getaway! 😃

  80. I will be married July 9th for the second time. Although, I always said I would never marry again, love found me and I have never been happier or more at peace! It’s amazing how God works, HIS timing is always perfect and on time~

“I Have Found The One My Soul Loves”
    Song of Solomon 3:4

  81. First off I just want to say Sazan that I wish you and Stevie love health and happiness for the many mores years to come in your life enjoy every last second I know you truly deserve it ive been a sazcriber since sazspaz magazine and I feel like I know you personally I follow you religiously literally my fave person ever xox. ANYWAYS… personally my favorite love quote is by Bob Marley “The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just got to find the ones worth suffering for.” I honestly love this because most times we kinda forget that love isnt all sunshine an rainbows I think finding those people in your life whoever they may be husband boyfriend friend the idea of sacrifice is major and can never be easy but you know when you find those special people it is totally worth it. I speak from self experience being in a relationship wear religion has put a few obstacles in my journey with my boyfriend but as they say love conquers all right? he is totally worth any obstacle!stay strong happy and head held high through the rough times 100 more years to come for you and Stevie;)<3
    Love you saz<3
please give sweetie a big kiss for me (she is to die for!!)

  82. I love hearing about everyone’s wedding songs. My husband and I got married in the garden of a bed and breakfast and we go there every year to stay in the guest cottage for our anniversary. I walked down the aisle to Dierks Bentley’s “Long Trip Alone”. I’m not even a huge country music fan but the lyrics were just so right.

  83. Oh my god, your playlist its so unic, i´m actually getting married on july 30th, and i have no idea with wich song I´m gonna walke down the aisle to, or the one for our first dance, etc, etc, and i´m so tired of looking all over the internet and youtube, and talking to my bf who has no idea of music, i´m actually loving your playlist, it IS SO ROMANTIC AND PEACEFUL, i LOVED IT! i´m from Honduras, C.A, i´ve been following you since a long time, and i love that you are literally like the “girl next door”, feeling so related to you. So, with that being said, I will love to wear that robe on my Wedding Day, that will be so rare and perfect, and for some reason i think that could bring some good luck for the beginning of a new family.!so. hopefully it will be mine. Send u blessings from my little and caribbean Country.

  84. You and Stevie have the sweetest relationship! I recently read this quote which I thought was so relevant: “You’ll feel so homesick that you’ll want to die, and there’s nothing you can do about it apart from endure it. But you will, and it won’t kill you. And one day, the sun will come out you might not even notice straight away – it’ll be that faint. And then you’ll catch yourself thinking about something or someone who has no connection with the past. Someone who’s only yours. And you’ll realize that this is where your life is.”

I think this quote has to do a lot with those of us who grew up in different countries, across different cultures, and how sometimes you may feel you have no home and no place you really belong or can say you started from. And sometimes that can get overwhelming, but one day, you’ll realize that your home is in another person, and in my case, he is my favorite part of my culture, because he is everything I value and want to keep alive from it. And somehow, in all the messiness of being two places at once, I suddenly feel like I have one place, and it’s him.
Hope that wasn’t too cheesy, but my boyfriend and I will be getting engaged soon, and I can’t wait 🙂 wishing you and Stevie the best in all things.

  85. I saw this at one of the weddings I attended a couple years ago and thought it was really sweet.
    Recipe for a Happy Marriage:
“Combine two caring hearts – Melt into one
    Add alot of love
Mix well with respect, and trust
Add gentleness, laughter, faith, hope, and joy.
Pour in much understanding (Don’t forget patience)
Sprinkle with kisses and, a dash of hugs
    Bake for a life time
    Yield: One Happy Couple”

  86. Hey Sazan! I just have to say, you are truly one of my favorite beauty/vlogger/travel inspirations on social media these dayz. You continue to inspire me in all sorts of ways. & I truly want to thank you for that. You not only inspire me to travel more, but you give me hope that the love that you and Stevie have is still around and I can only hope & pray to find love like that one day. Continue to do what you’re doing and don’t lose your faith, because you are so genuine & true to who you are. Oh, and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY & to many more to come. XOXO (:

One of my favorite verses/quote is: “Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior….because you are precious to me. You are honored, and I love you.” -Isaiah 43:1-4

  87. Hello Sazan!! I love watching your videos, as well as seeing all your posts!! I personally have never been in love. The love I have right now is for my family, without them I would be nowhere. They support me & are there for me no matter what. I am only 20 yrs. old so I find being in a relationship difficult. Many people think it’s weird because Im an old fashion person and finding someone
who has the same beliefs as me that is my age is vey difficult to find! But I hope that when and if I ever do fall
In love I will have someone as supportive and loving as my family!! I hope to one day have the pleasure of meeting you!😊

  88. Hello Sazan!
Personally, i’ve never experienced love for someone else besides my family but seeing my parent’s relationship makes me hope that one day I’ll be lucky enough to find someone that I can spend the rest of my life with. When people say ‘love is the closest thing we have to magic’ I honestly think it’s true because it’s crazy how deeply you can love someone that you would give your entire life up for them in a heartbeat! Thanks for sharing parts of your story it really gives all those hopeless romantics, like myself, some hope! 🙂

  89. My favorite love quote isn’t really a quote exactly it’s just something I have heard couples say about eachother and have always admired. It’s simply “He/she is my best friend”. If you are lucky enough to share your life with your best friend then I feel like you really have found true love and understand what it is about. I pray that I am lucky enough to say that one day about the love of my life. I’m only 22 and (very much so) still believe in fairytales so I have hope lol

  90. Here’s my sweet little love story. My fiancé is incredible, sexy, handsome, amazing, did I say incredible? Last month my entire family flew all the way across the United states to spend time with my my sister in Washington, DC (my sisters husband is in the military so being able to see them is so special and rare) little did I know that the trip would get even better! My fiancé surprised me, in front of the reflection pool and the Washington monument, got down on one knee and asked me to be his, forever. Having my whole family with me for this amazing moment is something I will cherish forever! He is so special, finding a man who loves my family as much as I do was something I thought impossible, but he is incredible. I LOVE BEING IN LOVE!
    -Xoxo future Mrs Bonnema

    1. Oh Also, I forgot our love songs <3
Our wedding will be on 05-06-17, we have chosen our first dance to be "Cross my heart" by George strait, it's such a sweet song that makes me think of all our pinky promises, and our young love that grew into something so great. He makes me complete! I want to win this so bad to wear on my wedding day!

"I cross my heart, and promise to give all I've got to give to make all your dreams come true. In all the world, you'll never find, a love that's true as mine."
      -Xoxo Future Mrs. Bonnema

  91. HELLO!

I wanted to start of with my favorite quote when it comes to my relationship with God along with my fiancé, it’s a verse from the bible.
1 Chorintians 13:7 says, “Love bears all thing, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things”. This verse is a constant reminder of Gods love for us all and makes me want to love my fiancé with that same amount of passion and love shown to me everyday by Gods grace. It makes me strive to love my fiancé more each and everyday, even when I think it’s not possible. I get to marry my best friend on July 10th of this year and I know that this verse will be always be close to my heart. I hope that this verse speaks through your marriage that way it does with my relationship with Nathan.

I am not married yet but if I could give you advice it would be from a blog called Beating 50%. They advise EVERY COUPLE to grab hands in a middle of an argument which instantly turns your anger or any emotion you’re feeling around, an instant bomb diffuser to any argument that could be deadly. Theres something about holding your spouse/fiancés hand that brings an overwhelming calm and peace into your mind and heart. Along with grabbing your partners hand, say ” We are on the same team”. These simple words remind you that no argument can break that apart. You’re a team, you’re one, and there’s no reason to be against each other while arguing.

Lastly, I remember you posting this photo on Instagram of these robes a while back. I absolutely fell in love with the look. I thought to myself what a beautiful robe to have on my wedding day. I never committed to buying one because of the price, I’ve always wanted to use money that I had for our wedding on other things rather than myself. I would be over this world ecstatic if I were able to have this lovely robe to feel beautiful while getting ready for mine and Nathan’s big day. 🙂

(Ps. Sorry for the lengthy comment, I was really excited about this giveaway and your wedding playlist you shared…which will be a huge help when the time comes to making my own! Thank you, Sazan! )

    Forever a Sazcriber,
    Jocelyn Cantu

  92. I have talked on occasion largely that I fall in love with somebody who owns the same nationality and the same religion like me. But treasure I have learned that one should never talk largely & should never have too high expectations. The nicest things happen mostly unexpectedly.
I asked my dad who had expected it of course like me, assumed from the fact that my future will be somebody from our circle. I spoke with mum about it & do you know what she said to me? – Treasure, No matter which religion, no matter which nationality, skin color or language somebody got, he had a common characteristic with you because he is a human like you darling.
He should love you & make you happy, that is the only one what I will pay attention to.
Love knows no borders…notice to you this… But sometimes I wished that she would know borders.
Unfortunately, forbidden things draw the person.
Imagine, it concerns a fire on which you have burnt yourself. Although you have hurt you, you feel from the warmth drawn…-

    Be happy forever

  93. Piece of advice for you Sazan whenever you feel down read this,
if you FAIL, never give up because F.A.I.L means “first attempt in learning”, END is not the end.in fact E.N.D means “effort never dies”. if you get NO as an answer, remember NO means ” next opportunity”.
Hope that helps you to stay positive P.S I love you 😉 (btw it took my ages to find comment box) lol.

  94. My favorite love quote is:
“The only meaningful thing we can offer one another is love. Not advice, not questions about our choices, not suggestions for the future, just love.” – Glennon Melton

  95. I have been with my high school sweetheart for eight years, we have been engaged for over a year and are getting married next June! He is my co-parent to our golden doodle, my biggest cheerleader and best friend! This blog post came at a perfect time as we are interviewing DJ vendors this week! We have 8 bridesmaids/groomsmen each, (and I love the idea of matching my girls in beautiful robes!) Since we went to high school and college together we have such a close group of friends that we consider family and we can’t wait to include in our special day. The best piece of advice I have received is find someone who loves you like kanye loves kanye.. (kidding! sort of) but aside from that… you don’t need someone who completes you, you need someone who compliments you! by bringing out your best, and accepting you at your worst.

  96. Ok, first off. Holocene played as you walked down the aisle?! Soul sista! That song is incredibleee. I will definitely be checking out the rest of your playlist since y’all obviously have great taste in music
Second, I know you love Jesus which makes me so happy to find a blogger with a passion for Him! Buuut, this is my all time favorite quote by C.S. Lewis from Mere Christianity. (it’s super long but super worth it)
“Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of – throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.”
To me, this quote just says everything about God’s love for us and even though it feels like everything is falling apart, he’s tearing out the old to replace it with the new and glory filled.
Thanks for being such a great role model and someone that I can really look up to for inspiration. Also, I love how goofy you and Stevie are together, I’m glad me and my boyfriend aren’t the only weirdos out there hahaha.
P.S. It’s totally awesome that y’all are from Texas as well!!

  97. “Putt your hand on your heart
    The old man said
    in you, there is power
    There are ideas
thoughts no one has ever thought of
    There is strength to love
    Purely and intensely
    and to be loved back
there is power to make people happy
    and to make people laugh
Its full of kindness and joy
and the power to change lives and futures
Don’t forget that power and dont ever give up on it.

  98. As a young womanpreneur and singleton, everyone is constantly saying don’t rush life and quit looking for the next best thing. I’ve recently made this my life’s mantra. Life is in constant motion – always moving and always changing. Sometimes, you just need to stop and look at all the change you’ve made in the environment around you. You will begin to take notice in all that has blossomed. Once you can allow change in your life, you will be able to let love flow in and truly flourish.

Stay grounded and surround yourself with those who love and support your dreams and goals. You will always be the one with greener grass, even if you don’t think so. Let love of others and love of what you do be your path to the prettiest garden.

    Xoxo

  99. My favorite piece of advice is that happiness is not an achievement, but a choice made. I used to really struggle with never feeling completely “fulfilled,” until I had the epiphany that it was my attitude which impacted my perspectives on my life and relationships. This mentality is STILL an ongoing process for me but I always keep that notion in the back of my mind to keep me humble and thankful.

Sazan, you are such a positive inspiration to young women, including myself, and I admire you so much. You are the epitome of a classy woman who is an incredibly smart, hard-working career woman but also a loving and devoted wife. Congratulations on your first year of marriage. I am so excited to see what will come next for you and Stevie.

    Kristen

  100. Hey Sazan! My favorite love quote is “If I could choose between loving you and breathing…I would use my last breath to say I love you…” The first time I read this, I was totally in love with it! I love your blog, your youtube channel and you are insta goals!!! P.S. I realized the other day that you were the only instagram account for which I turned the notification on! Love your insta! And I wish you and Stevie a Happy 1st Anniversary in advance ❤️❤️❤️

  101. Finding my favorite quotes is SO hard. I literally have a journal full of quotes that I’m planning on passing on to my future kids.

    Ok … so 3, I really like!

“Connecting with people is more important than outshining them.”
    — Carolee Dean
“A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it. It just blooms.”
    — Unknown
“The thing about healing is that it hurts, sometimes even worse than the original wound. Most people think healing is just a “matter of time” or “don’t bring it up,” and while that’s partially true, it also involves an active confrontation with yourself to get where you want to be. When a bone breaks, you set it. When you get scraped, you use peroxide or alcohol. When you get bruised, you endure an ice pack. I don’t mean to take this metaphor too far, but if you only allow “time to heal,” then you could end up with a mangled bone or an infection.”
    — J.S. Park

    ———–

Something about me, My name is Evelin and I’m from a small country called Estonia but I have been living in Michigan for the past 4 years with my husband. We were both missionaries in Australia, traveled to Africa, France and Spain and ended up getting engaged in Iceland. I think its safe to say that we love to see the world. But a fun FACT is that I also walked down the aisle to Bon Iver – Holocene. That was almost 4 years ago! Time flies.. aah!Literally cry every time the song comes on. Takes me back to the best day of my life!

    – Evelin

and … Sazan, you are awesome!

  102. Okay so this is about to get a it personal, but you’re so open thought I could give this a try..! So recently I’ve been going through a breakup.. This guy, he was my best friend!! We weren’t perfect individuals but we complemented each other in such a way that we were perfect for each other! And we were so in love!! In the whole two years of us talking/dating/whatever we didn’t have a single fight.. Sure, we had misunderstandings and disagreements but we loved each other so much we found a way to get past it all.. Then a few months ago we had somewhat of a fight.. We were upset and both said things we didn’t mean and we wanted to get past it but it killed us both that we had hurt the other person.. I just wanted to work things out but he asked for time to think and then it got to the point where we didn’t know what to do so he said it would be best to go our separate ways.. It’s been about a month since he’s made that decision and still everyday is a struggle to get up and on with life but God has been my Rock through everything.. Everyday there are these little things that happen and almost seems as if God is trying to tell me “hey, I know it’s hard.. Believe me I’ve been through it all. Rejection by those who you love? I’ve felt it. But you have nothing to fear because I am right here with you and I love you with an Everlasting love. I got this. Your story isn’t finished yet..” Anyway, so today I was watching the interview that you did and in it you were saying how you had been going through a bad breakup and you were telling Stevie about it and he told you to pray to God to open up to you and then He did. And that He helped you get through all of the hard times with your family and all and that really made me think hush how much God is helping me and opening up and about His love to me through this breakup that I’m going through..
And one of the quotes that has been so very important to me is “the seasons change and you change, but the Lord abides evermore the same, and the streams of His love are as deep, as broad, and as full as ever.”
Through it all may you remember how greatly you are loved by our Heavenly Father and may He continue to bless you two for many more long happy years!! I love you guys and the love you have for each other may that never fade!!
    (sofietorch@gmail.com)

  103. So I have this huge crush on this guy that I’ve been close friends with for about 4 years now. We went to HS and college together (UNT actually! Caw! Haha) but only became friends in college and he actually told me he liked me freshmen year but at the time I was super confused about it all. He started dating someone, and now 4 years later, were even closer and I really like him. The best advice I recently got from a good friend was “Can you imagine a dream without him? If not you probably can’t imagine your life without him either.” And it’s so true. When I dream about my dream guy it’s always him, so I’m going to get the courage to tell him…soon lol.

  104. Sazan!! You and Stevie are such little cuties & have me cracking up all the time! Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Coming from someone who chooses to keep a lot of things private, you are so brave to open up about the not-so-easy topics in hopes to reach out to others.

And now! …because you should never take life too seriously…here is my quote:
Marry the one who gives you the same feeling you get when you see food coming at the restaurant.
Or do we just stick with the quote “Fries before guys” ?? 😛

Also, one song that definitely makes my future wedding playlist is: Sweet Disposition by The Temper Traps – LOVE it!

    Till next time! 😉 xx

  105. “I always thought you were being perfect when you were being yourself”. Most great love quotes come from songs… even rap ones!

  106. I subscribed previously..

Happy anniversary!!! My husband and I have been married for 3 years, I truly believe that you should never stop dating (somehow I don’t think you’ll have a problem w/that LOL) seriously its one way to keep the spark alive. We have been married for 3 years but together for 14 and it still somehow feels new and I still look forward to date night.

  107. Hey sazy, my favorite quote is “No matter how many people I love, I will love you most. No matter how many people I met, you will always be my favorite. No matter how many people I’m with, I will always want you more.” This quote speaks to me in such a big way, as I have long distance relationship and it gets very hard at times. You’re such a bright person and I wish you and Stevie the best in the future.

  108. Advice-
Move, when you can’t bear to. Just move. The world is constantly moving. Move with it and your heart will catch up later. As D.H. Lawrence recalled in Twilight in Italy “..life passes away into this changeless radiance. Summer and the prolific blue-and-white flowering of the earth goes by… is gone into brilliance that hovers overhead, the radiant cold which waits to receive back again all that which has passed for the moment into being.”
There are seasons in life just as there are in nature and you must learn how to patiently wait, as the trees wait for the flowers, as the dark sky waits for the sun, wait with patience and peace will come – in whatever form it is meant for you – it will always come.

  109. Hey Saz! This past weekend I was the Maid of Honor in my beautiful sister’s wedding. As very close sisters, we’ve joked our whole life about when I would give a speech at her wedding and what I would say. I knew I had to mix in some funny parts – I’ve always had a very sarcastic sense of humor and it was important to me that my personality came through on her special day! That being said, I also wanted to use my speech as an opportunity to tell my sister all of the things I think and feel for her that are rarely said out loud; like how proud I am of everything she’s done, how proud I am to be her sister, and that I can’t wait to continue to stand by her side as she begins the exciting new journey of marriage. I ended my speech with a toast to my sister and new brother-in-law in which I told them, “The best thing you can do in life is find someone who loves you for exactly who you are – I’m so glad the two of you have done just that!”

    m.thannikkotu@gmail.com

  110. First of all, happy anniversary to you and Steve!

One quote that I refer to often is “If we really want to love, we must learn how to forgive”. It is a quote that I live by with my boyfriend but with family and friends.

  111. Happy Anniversary Stevie and Sazan!

What a beautiful couple and wedding! The Love Ophelia robes are gorgeous too! I love that your wedding was small and intimate! My fiancé and I are having a small and intimate destination wedding on the beach in St.Thomas, Virgin Islands on 08.12.16! We decided to forgo the traditional wedding party too! Instead, every guest will be a VIP!💕 My best advice for wedding planning is that you can’t please everyone and that’s okay! Have fun with it and do what will make you and your fiancé the happiest!💗👰🏻🎩🏝

  112. “To love oneself is the beginning of a life long romance”.
    -Oscar Wilde

I would say I’m a pretty selfless person. I am usually the friend/ family member everyone relies on for basically anything… I love it, I love that my friends and family trust me and want my opinion or need my help… But most of the time in all the chaos, I forget to take care of myself. I had to learn that sometimes it’s okay to be “selfish” and care about yourself too! We all need that time! Whether it’s going out to buy yourself makeup because you deserve it-or even to going to the gym. Rather than bring yourself down, one should begin to reflect on how much they have accomplished (and honestly I try to do this before bed so I don’t over-stress and think too much).

Once you feel comfortable being you and accept yourself, you begin to see the world differently and much more positively.

  113. Hi sazan, its been not quite long that im following you.It was my marriage getting fixed got me hang of ur blog somehow. Though me biologically being a girl , i never ever pay heed to that side of me and never indulging in those girlie kind of
things u do , u know. This bolg n your you tube channel came as relief. Since then little by little i started things like baby steps it was. Though i did have some dressing sense but a strict no-no for makeup etc.My marriage took place the same year as yours in november & mine was too a love marriage from different cultures. Bringing together so many people from then yill now and may be more.
Thank you for being there and helping me out. You might not be aware but i really got a big help.(Imagine a girl not even knowing how to put lip color or nailpaint).
So a big thank you and happy anniversary .

  114. I stumbled upon your blog looking for wedding related giveaways and other wedding planning related items.

I am currently going into my senior year of college with my fiance we got engaged just over two years ago on April 28th. As a young couple just getting our careers going wedding planning has been a long drawn out process. Ironically our relationship as friends started when we were in 6th grade. I moved away and then I came back to go to prom with some old friends and he was my date! From there our relationship bloomed and we are happy as ever! I can’t wait to marry my best friend in 2018!

  115. Happy Anniversary to you! Love your song list:)

My favorite love quote is from 1 Corinthians 13. It may be considered a bit clique since it’s read at a lot of weddings, but I think it really reflects what love really is (at least to me). Can’t wait to have it read at my wedding:)
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres…Love never fails.”

  116. The only love quote that has ever been taught by my parents and has always been my guide for everything is from the Bible 1 Corinthians 13:4-8- Love suffers long and is kind, it does not envy, does not vaunteth itself, is not puffed up.
Does not behave unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil.
Rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in truth.
Beareth all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endureth all things.
Most of all, LOVE NEVER FAILS. 🙂 God bless you….

  117. Love is not about how much you say I love you but how much you prove that it’s true. Actions speak louder than words.
You are an amazing person with a heart of gold and your personality is so uplifting. I love watching all your videos and your happiness is so contagious. Wishing you all the best always! Xoxo

  118. Subscribed!
And my favorite love quote is The Sun loved the Moon so much he died every night just to let her breathe.

  119. Love your choice in Van Morrison for a wedding song. Ours was You Are the Best Thing
by Ray LaMontagne and now every time I’m out and about and hear the song in a store or restaurant I get butterflies. “You are the best thing… that’s ever happened to me.”

Congratulations on your one year! 🙂

  120. Hi Sazan! I am 22 years old and I am getting married to my boyfriend of 7 years in about 3 months :o. We have been engaged since February 3rd but haven’t started the planning. I think I might end up planning a wedding in 5 weeks just like you. We are from Venezuela a country in latinamerica that struggles lack of food, basic needs and medicine. We suffer under a dictatorial government, but there is always room for love isn’t there? We have been applying for grad school there in the states (where my brother already lives, many families here are separated by thousands of miles just like mine) and we got in! We are so excited! We have been waiting until we knew we got in, how to pay, where to go and when to figure out when we should get married. We are still finalizing our plans but I am so excited to marry the love of my life and my best friend! We will have a difficult first year of marriage though I will study in Washington and him in Philadelphia, but we will figure it out! We love each other too much and we are no strangers to hard times! Anyway, this is a lovely, feminine but kind of sexy and flattering robe that I am sure my man will love!

  121. Ok now I am subscribed! I am a disaster I am so sorry!

  122. I loved when you said “when great blessings are about to happen in your life, there will always be distractions trying to steal the moment”… It’s so true because he just loves to steal our Joy.. But God fights the good fight and with HIM, anything is possible to overcome! I’m actually getting married in a few months and i’m so happy I passed by your blog before because not only are you a great blogger but you’re one of the few bloggers that are firm in your faith! Definitely a role model for me.. The way you feel about your husband, I feel the same way about my fiance!
